Why am I failing at this
I will keep you posted...and I am not giving up. I fought too hard for this surgery and sacrificed a lot to get it done!!

I was on a no shake program. It works perfectly fine and protein shakes are not magic weight loss drinks.
I think you have very high expectations. You have lost a lot of weight and 4-8lbs per month weightloss is perfectly acceptable at month 3 and onwards.
Just keep doing what you are doing and don't compare yourself with anyone else.

You just have to stick with it if you are logging your meals, drinking lots of water or liquids, and getting some walking in. Stalls happen. I had a lot of them over the year that I lost most of my weight.
Maybe weigh yourself less often... jusy follow your plan. I know it is depressing when you see somone else losing faster than you are. I was certain that I would be the one person who did not lose weight. But it did eventually come off. I lost slower than some, faster than others. Follow. The. Plan. And it will come off.
Its been my experience that nearly everyone reaches a point where they stall for a few weeks. I think your body just needs to take a breather and catch up. Make sure you're getting in enough fluids, measure and log everything that goes into your mouth, and maybe walk an extra 15 minutes. You'll get there. Just keep it up! You've done great so far!!
Many of us do not lose weight in a consistently downward trend, like a slide, but in a manner more like stairs. A loss and then a plateau, followed by a loss, a plateau, etc. The plateaus are never long enough to be classified as a stall, but it sure seems like weight loss isn't happening as fast as others. But in actuality, the total loss as compared to others over the same time frame is in the same range.

I feel the same way about not losing. I was down to 190, then went up about a pound a day until I'm now at 195 again. I'm drinking my liquids, weighing and measuring my food, I'm still having trouble getting in 60-80 grams of protein. 60-65 isn't bad, with a protein shake, but I'm not able to get to 80 yet. My surgery was 2/26, and I was walking as much as I could. I've already had 2 spinal fusions and the only physical therapy for them was walk, so getting up and walking immediately was no problem. I walk at least 15 minutes every morning, and I've now added in a couple of workout videos, even though I'm not able to do all of them yet. Like you, I'm not giving up, but it is rather depressing.
Good luck, stay strong and positive.
You might be able to aquafit or water walking, I've got bad arthritis and this was recommended for me once my incisions healed. Now if I could just find the time.
