Need help loosing again and getting back on track
Hi all, I am 8 years out from RNY and I have gained back half of the original weight loss. I am not sure what to do you. Is it OK to go back to the partially liquid Pre-Op diet?? That was pretty simple for me to follow but just not sure now as its probably not enough protein...but maybe a good jump start?? I am feeling desperate and so ashamed. I don't want to have to go on weigh****chers or something else like I did before RNY. I have forgotten what I am supposed to be eating other than the protein. My support people say I don't eat enough and thats why I am gaining. :(
Thanks
First, you can do this. Regain is common, but losing is possible.
Most importantly, your support people could not possibly be more full of crap. Human beings do NOT gain weight because they eat too little. Never. We gain weight because we are eating more calories than we are burning. Plain and simple. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Start weighing and logging your food. Every bite goes on a food scale and into MyFitnessPal before it goes into your mouth. Track it all, and see exactly where your calories and macros are.
You can do this.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

Look at low carb and keto sites, but make sure you log everything into an app like MyFitnessPal and weigh food - don't guess portion sizes!
I lose on less than 1200 calories and about 30g carbs. You'll have to find what you need to do to lose
Im 55, almost 14 years post RNY and I've lost 23lbs in 13 weeks, so it's not easy, but it is doable. If you're younger, you will probably lose easier than I have.
