morning everyone! today is my last day of working for the lady who's on vacation so thankfully I will be back at my own desk tomorrow!

Had a wonderful Easter with my Brother and Sister and their families and managed to mostly eat on plan (besides 3 small bites of loaded mashed potatoes) ...I just had ham, tried a bite of lamb chop, and some green beans. I wanted to try the chocolate truffle cheesecake SO BADLY but I am too afraid of dumping especially while I am away from home LOL.
The kids had a blast, did a little egg hunt in the yard, and we got to Skype with Mom & Dad in Az for a while so it was nice.

QOTD: I love crocheting, learned it from my roommate when I was in my 20's and have learned a few cute patterns over the years, especially for baby blankets...but what I would LOVE to learn is to actually sew WELL...I can do the basics, but I want to learn to make my own patterns/ sew clothing that is wearable, not just for halloween costumes or basic mending of seams, etc. I wanted to be a fashion designer since I was about 8 years old...I went to Art school because I loved the design aspect (illustration) but now I really wish I had gone to actual fashion design school instead. I still kick myself for that.
Also would love to learn to play guitar...or any instrument really. I took Piano lessons as a kid for like 5 minutes but remember almost nothing. I would love to be able to write my own songs. My husband is self taught and plays but every time he has tried to teach me I feel like my fingers are just not long enough or dexterous enough. it is no joke!

Morning-coffee w/Caramel Premier protein
B: egg salad w/ cottage cheese and chopped up smoked sausage
L: turkey chili
D: Meatballs w/marinara
S: string cheese

have a great day everyone!

Hi All... A little late today been a crazy day.. Easter ended up being a crazy day. My daughter called just sobbing her heart out a young man she had gone to school with since Kindergarten and I have to admit he was one of the nicest people I have ever known was killed in a skiing accident. Really broke my heart. My daughter is 22 and this the second time in less than two years she has lost a friend she really is to young for all this heartache.

QOTD: I would love to take up dirt biking... I loved doing that when I was a teenager and would love doing it again.

Food for the day:

B: Bacon

L: cottage cheese and ham

D: taco meat and cheese...

Have a great day friends.

Sorry your daughter lost a friend. It's hard to feel our kids hurt.

Hello my friends! Happy Easter Monday!

I hope that all of you had a lovely Easter. I had a wonderful day. I attended mass at my local Catholic church, St. Cecelia's. St. Cecelia is the patron saint of musicians, and this church really lives up to it's namesake, with lots of music and songs. It's quite different than my last church, the beautiful old Spanish mission in santa Barbara. Last Easter the priest swung the thurible with so much intent and ecclesiastical intensity that the air was positively blue with smoke: frankincense, myrrh, and copal, carrying prayers heavenward.

I absolutely love these ancient Christian rituals, and nobody does ritual and ceremony quite like we Catholics (except, perhaps, for the Greek Orthdox church). Up here in the PNW, there was much less incense, it was focused primarily on the altar, with more of a symbolic swing of the censor towards the congregation. But in both places we were sprinkled with holy water! I love Christmas so much, but it is really Easter which is the molten heart of the Christian mysteries.

After mass i drove down to my daughter-in-law's grandmother's house. She has a stunningly beautiful and interesting home right on the water, with an acre of gorgeous gardens. It is my dream home, and full of incredible rugs, paintings, and other amazing things, collected during years of travel and decades spent overseas. If I lived in that house, I doubt I would ever get much of anything done, I would be so transfixed by the stunning, ever-changing view of the water and mists. My DIL has a big clan - even without her brother (a navy pilot), his wife and their four boys, who were elsewhere, there were over 20 people there. It was really great! I had a little cheese, a little lamb, a little asparagus, and a little salad. I find that when I'm out I still have the tendency to put more meat on my plate than I could possibly end up eating. and I'm not talking about a ton - just more than the small amount I can actually eat. At home I weigh everything so I don't ever overload my plate. Anyway it's fine, I just need to remember to think in terms of the 2 ounces I can handle!

I had a wonderful time and the best part was being able to spend it with my son. I really am so very blessed!

First: tea w cashew milk, huge mug!

B: lamb, and smoked gouda

L: ham, smoked gouda

D: turkey, green beans

Sending all of you love!

Posting in the evening as I had no time earlier. Work today involved demolition of a deck and pulling nails from boards so they could be reused then stacking them on a trailer and then unloading them at another site. . Lily and I just got back from a nice long walk in beautiful woods and up and down hills. Tired but it feels great to have the energy to do that after clocking 6 miles while working. QOTD continuous travel. If it was up to me I'd RV full time and just go place to place with Nomads work trips thrown in there too. Post op 5 years 7 months and weight at 118.4 today. Heres my food B 1/2 c steel cut oat with protein and peanut butter L 1/2 c chicken salad 3 baby carrots D 4 oz baked almond crusted fish 1/2 c green beans S sm apple with peanut butter. Hope lots of smart choices were made today and if not--tomorrow is a new day! Later!
