What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Good morning! I hope everyone had a good weekend, whether you celebrated Easter or not. DH and I had a weekend trip that included a very cold baseball game! More details and pics posted in yesterday's menu thread, so I won't reha**** all here.
QotD: if you could take up any hobby that currently seems out of reach (either financially or time-wise) what would it be? I think I'd like to learn how to knit or crochet, but I don't have the time lately to learn, and I know it gets expensive to buy supplies for projects...
Breakfast: Just Crack an Egg bowl
lunch: tuna creations packet
Dinner: salsa verde chicken in the crock pot
I'll likely work a protein shake in somewhere. And heading to the gym after work, 30 mins on the elliptical.
Have a great Monday!

Mornin'!
Back to the grind - although it'll be a short week for me. I have a plastic surgery consult in the Chicago suburbs on Thursday, then I go from there directly to Des Moines for my cousin's wedding. My brother will be coming back to Wisconsin with us after the wedding - he's headed back to NC early next week. So there's a lot to look forward to!
QOTD: I've actually been thinking of taking a knitting class, too! For me it's not really the money - it's the time. Maybe after I retire... Same with genealogy. I got started on it about three years ago but have so much more to do - but then, time....
2 years 9 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1 T tahini and sliced strawberries
MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax latte shake
L: Meatballs and cheese sticks
AS: L&F yogurt?
D: either a pork chop with Asian-style slaw, or a Chinese-style chicken/veggie stirfry (no rice)
Good morning menu folks! The only thing we did for Easter was to go out for breakfast and I splurged on a blueberry pancake with ham. I'm having the leftovers for breakfast this morning. My stomach doesn't tolerate bread with yeast, but pancakes in small quantities don't seem to be an issue although I do get a little bloated if I eat very much. So I save them for special occasions only.
This weekend I finally got back to the pool for the first time since my hysterectomy. It was wonderful! On Saturday I swam laps for 50 minutes and then managed to make it through a 45 minute Aqua Zumba class. The laps were good but I had to modify the Zumba to do less bouncing and slow my pace a few times. I was good and tired afterward and took a good rest. Later in the afternoon I planted 5 barrel containers of pansies and violas. They are beautiful! I was very careful with the bending and lifting even though I have been officially released by my surgeon.
Sunday we went swimming again and I did an hour of laps. I was tired at the end of it but felt energized at the same time. I had also considered a hike in the afternoon but decided to give my body some extra rest for the week ahead. This week I am heading back to work in the office whi*****ludes a 45-60 minute commute on either end. A long day!
Today I am doing my regular teleworking but this afternoon I have my first plastics consultation. I am considering having an abdominoplasty and breast lift in the late summer or early fall. The removal of the large fibroids in my abdomen have left me with even more loose skin that I'd like to have tightened up. I have 3 consults scheduled over the next 2 months and may try to schedule more depending on how they go.
Accountability: I had a blueberry pancake (no syrup) for breakfast yesterday and today but I've not been tempted by the Easter chocolate fortunately.
Menu:
Breakfast: most of a blueberry pancake, ham
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, cantaloupe, cashews
Lunch: turkey breast, brussels sprouts & spinach
Snack: string cheese, apple, almonds
Dinner: not sure
Exercise: I'd like to go swimming this evening, maybe another Aqua Zumba class

Glad you were able to get back into the pool! And I'm jealous of your potted flowers, it will be a late planting season here--just got snow yesterday!

I planted pansies and violas because they are pretty hardy for the cool nights that we will have for a few more weeks. I am also being very careful with lifting so I don't know whether I will get my garden beds mulched this year or not. Even at the best of times, the 30 pound bags of leaf mulch and manure and the deep digging is hard work. I don't want to pull anything.

I hear you! I'm off lifting restrictions for my own surgery, but I'm still pretty hesitant to lift bags of mulch and potting soil.

I've hurt my back too many times lifting and throwing the 30 pound bags! That of course was 100+ pounds of me ago too!

Yeah for laps in the pool! I'm a poor swimmer so couldn't do it though I love water. DD on the other hand used to be on a swim team and would really benefit from lap swimming with her arthritis.
