Good morning Peach. Nice to see you heading up the thread! We are hosting 8 for dinner late today after DD arrives for a one week visit.

QOTD: I was raised Protestant but do not attend church largely because I knew the reverend at our church well growing up. I was a friend of his daughters and he was NOT a nice person. Possibly a good leader, but a nasty person to his family. I believe that being a good and moral person in your actions is what is most important. DH and my children are catholic and it is important to DH to go to mass so I take him every week (leaving for Easter mass in about 1/2 hour). At our former home, the priest at his church was a wonderful, caring and kind man who helped us through the illness and death of eldest DD, so I felt better about spiritual leaders after that.

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Ham, stuffed potatoes and asparagus

S: a small piece of key lime pie (homemade by SIL)

Your experience with the reverend is part of my reason in not going to church. All to often I see the 'non-church' side Of people. It's hard for me to accept who that who one is on Sunday is magically different Monday through Saturday. I need to remember we're all imperfect everyday.

i once read this in a church sign "we are born broken, God's grace is the glue." I often have to tell myself this.

Good Morning and HAPPY EASTER everyone! Thanks for starting us off, Peach!

I went to an Adult Easter Egg Hunt yesterday, which was basically bar hopping, but my friend and I didn't drink, we just went around to the bars and collected our eggs. It was fun. Woke up this morning to a TON of snow on the ground and more falling! I was going to go to my friend's church, but it was cancelled due to the snow. I'm going over to her family's house for Easter lunch. I don't know what's on the menu but will try to choose healthy foods.

QOTD: I was raised in the Lutheran church and then we switched to the Episcopal church. I LOVE Unity church, but there are none in my town. I am more spiritual than I am religious and can communicate with God in nature as well as in a church.

Accountability: I couldn't get MyFitnessPal to work for me yesterday so I don't have yesterday's totals, but I'm sure it's similar to what I usually eat.

B: Prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: not sure what we are having at my friend's house, but will choose wisely.

D: microwave meal

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups

E: I doubt I'll get out in the snow and walk today. It's too deep.

Have a wonderful day everyone! Happy Easter!

~ Karen

Yikes! I wonder if we'll be driving back to a winter wonderland? I know Omaha was supposed to get snow too, I just don't know how much. We're on the road back now.

We got safely home about an hour ago, we did drive through some nasty stuff, but it was clear again before we got to Council Bluffs :)

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter! Nice slow morning before getting ready to go to my sisters for the day. It should be a nice day and I'm looking forward to it!

QOTD - Catholic all the way. I didn't appreciate it growing up at all and was 'spiritual not religious' for years. When Pope Francis came to be 5 years ago, it slowly restored my faith. I started regularly visiting the Mission to light a candle and pray. Lately Rob (who is also Catholic) and I have started going to mass once a month. I love the tradition, rituals and ceremony of it all plus the smell, the music, the bells and chants... I understand no religion is perfect, but this is part of who I am and it was never more clear to me than after my very devout father passed away in February.

Accountability - great

I went to catholic school from K-12. I never was interested in joining the faith- but respect it due to my long exposure to it. It amazes me that the masses are stil the same all these years later.

Pope Francis is like a breath of fresh air - he almost makes me want to convert to Catholicism!
