Good morning. Accountability wasn't good yesterday. I was perfect and then all h... broke lose at 4pm with an urgent request. I ended up working until 7, which puts me at home and eating dinner close to 8, so I just ate one of my emergency bars I had at the office (Oh Yeah). Then I went home and had half cup of frozen yogurt (I'm not sure why and it wasn't very good). So not horrible, but certainly not on my plan for the day. Today is going to be weird because of Passover, but it will work fine. Just hard to anticipate exactly what will be served.

QOTD - I love the sound of roller skates on a hard wood floor. Sadly my local roller skating place is going out of business tomorrow before I'm ready to make one of my goals for the year (getting back on my skates - though being on Coumadin means I have to wear some type of helmet). The next good place is about 45 miles from me. I'll try to do that by year end, but it's very sad. I know times change, but it's sad that kids sit at home and do nothing while socializing on line. Some of my best memories were while skating during my high school years and many years after. Some of my best friendships were forged while doing that activity and it was great exercise for me during those times. Just sad. I also love the smell of fresh mowed grass in the spring.

B - 1 1/2 scrambled and 3 turkey bacon

S - Fage 5 oz and .5oz nuts

L - Small salad and turkey meatloaf - I'm eating too much turkey meatloaf this week. I need to make something else for next week ;)

I'm going to try to skip the afternoon snack because dinner will be larger than normal

D - Passover sedar will likely consist of half a hard boiled egg (early on during the sedar); 1/2 cup broth from soup; 2 oz Brisket; 2 oz Turkey; my wife's oven roasted garlic potatoes (just a sliver - they are simple but delicious); 2 tbs of spinach salad; matzo kugel/stuffing 2 tbs.

Dessert - one of my planned I allow each year - Passover Strawberry Cheesecake (just the fresh strawberries and a few tbs of the cheesecake goo - not the crust). My wife's cheesecake is very good and she makes it only for Passover (I've added up the ingredients and I think it totals $65 - oh boy).

I was on a roller derby team right out of high school! I broke my ankle in an unrelated moment of clutziness, and it's given me trouble since. I don't think I'll get back into skates even when I lose the weight, just for fear of a weak ankle. :(

I have custom skates. The skills and design are long gone. I once had someone offer me $150 on the spot to sell my skates for the parts. I just laughed. Funny, they were built 44 years ago. I have had them rebuilt (cushions, wheels, bearings and axles) a couple of times. I really need to get back on those skates. It's one of the reasons I joined the spin classes at my health club this week. Time to go to the next level for me (and that isn't just goal weight). Have a great day!

I'm doing derby right now. We have several high-level skaters with a history of ankle injuries, and they wear braces under their skates for extra protection. Something like this:

Seems to work just fine and keep them safe!

I recently joined my local roller derby team. I'd suggest reaching out to your local league, and I bet they can recommend other local places to skate! We hold all of our practices at a skate park that's attached to one of the nearby high schools, so they may have some ideas for you that aren't 45 miles away!
