She's a sweetie! She was one of the rescue dogs that they put in the prisons when my sister found her and I think she's the best dog ever.

Good morning :)
Not too much planned for today. DH has the day off so we will probably do a few things around the house. I have a massage appt this morning, so that will be nice.
QOTD: I love clean sheets to sleep in and a clean bathroom. We renovated our bathroom last year so I love seeing it all spruced up. I love taking a bath and relaxing in there, so it's even better when it's super clean.
Post-op three years.
Breakfast - cereal and milk
Snack - leftover egg and bacon
Lunch - leftover chicken something
Snack - apple and pb
Dinner - either chicken or burger
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.

Morning all!
Thank you Cassie for starting today's menu thread! Love the kitty photos, they are too cute! Janet, you're looking wonderful! And Liz, once again, such a beautiful photo!
Today is Good Friday, and I've really been thinking about what that means, why it's remembered. Easter is just around the corner! I'll be having Easter dinner at my daughter-in-law's grandmother's househouse, right on the water, truly a magnificent spot. I really look forward to that - the reason I moved to Seattle was because my brother and his family are in the process of selling their gorgeous Santa Barbara home to retire on the Gulf coast, and my son and his wife are up here. I didn't want to remain in Santa Barbara, no matter how spectacular a place it is (and it truly is), when all those I love were elsewhere. Hence my move to the Pacific Northwest! My family is very small, but my kiddo married into a large clan, so I look forward to the holidays with them all!
Anyway, it is Good Friday, and I am going to try to have just shakes both today and tomorrow, as close to a fast as I will get. Then I'm going to thoroughly enjoy that Easter ham! When I was growing up, my mom always prepared the most woonderful Easter brunch for us all. The table was enlarged and beautifully set with her lovely good china, there were flowers everywhere, and all sorts of special treats, and of course colored eggs. My mother always went all out for both Christmas and Easter, and my memories of both of those beautiful holidays are very sweet.
QOTD: Rain! I'm somewhere where water simply and gently just falls from the sky! (Those of you not from the drought-stricken central coast of California may not quite appreciate this sentiment). The scent of mint in the garden. The sticky, resinous, rich aroma of rosemary. The first big mug of tea in the morning. The fantastic water pressure in my shower!
First: tea with cashew milk in an enormous mug. To be repeated at least 5 times today!
Then shakes (vanilla or cinnamon buns) for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and perhaps a snack.
Enjoy every bit of today, my friends!
I too, love rain!

I love all of your answers!! Yes, rain is one of mine - I love way you described rosemary, it was perfect! And I definitely forgot the love of water pressure in the shower, but probably since I have none where I live!
Glad to hear you are happy and with family!!

Writergurl - I meant to reply to your specific post, but I think since you started the thread it put me in the back. Hope you see this.
Bites, Licks and Tastes are a real danger zone place to be for us. Be careful, especially so early out. A friend of mine had surgery 2 weeks before me and she was tasting very early on. I actually weigh less then her now. I doubt she has lost any weight in the last 6 months and she's sitting 60 pounds overweight still. She just can't turn it around now. Yesterday she tried to run around me in the cafeteria so I wouldn't see her. She had a cheese burger (2 slices of cheese), fries and ketchup and mayo in a cup. I walked up to talk to her and she was actually dipping the fries in the mayo (said she has done that since a kid). She asked me not to say anything. Just be careful.

Yeah, I definitely don't plan on making ice cream a regular occurrence, or anything else I shouldn't be eating. I normally don't have a problem staying on plan since DH is also post RNY, so we just don't have the bad stuff in the house. Lesson firmly learned! I certainly don't want to repeat the experience.

Unfortunately or fortunately - I have to learn coping skills because my house is a time bomb. My wife bakes for the family and friends, so there are always cookies or cakes in the freezer (oddly stored in my basement gym area). So I just have to focus on what I make and my food and keep a mindset that those items aren't for me. Does help my mindset at the office, I admit. In my past any sugary food was mine, mine, mine. And I do mean mine - I wouldn't stop until I ate greater than my fair share of that cake. Now I see something at the office and I just say - that wasn't brought in for me. Does help. However, I'm not perfect with the BLTs. Costco is the worst for me - but I do limit myself to only trying things that are on profile and would work on my plan. The other oddity is that the household cookie and candy drawer is right below my bariatric supplies drawer. I just find that funny (at least in my own head). There are just four drawers or doors I have to not open. And I do a pretty good job of it. [If having these in the house makes you think my wife isn't supportive - that's not the case - she is very supportive of my journey (comes to all my doc apts and always comes to support group with me. We talked about it and we decided together to just contain these foods and I won't go into those drawers/doors. I like the skills it forces me to develop]
