Revision
What are you revising to? I'm surprised your insurance will pay if there is no mechanical failure of your RNY.
A revision is unlikely to be successful if your lifestyle caused your weight gain because there isn't a surgery that cures that. There are several people here, myself included, who have battled and lost regain.
There is a revision board Revision Board

My stoma has stretched and I am getting it made smaller surgically. I went through a terrible time in my life. I don't want sympathy. I lost my mother, home, sister and diagnosed with MS, had a hysterectomy, a knee replacement and a lot in between. I can't go back into the past but I did lose 200 pounds and if I had a revision I know I will keep it off.
I just could not cope at the time.
Unfortunately the Rose or Stomaphyx do not have great outcomes. The weightloss is generally around 20lbs, which is a result of the liquid diet requirements.
I hope you are the exception to this and wish you luck. Regain is a very hard reality most of us face.

Margie, if meat and vegetables make you vomit, has your surgeon ruled out a physical reason for that?. A stoma revision won't help with that.
What are you able to eat? If you could give us an idea of the things you can eat and what you eat in a typical day, we may be able to help you with meal planning.
I hate to think you are going to risk a surgery if it's not going to solve your eating problems.
Losing regain is hard. It's taken me 12 weeks to lose 21lb (and I have more to go), but it would be better to do it by eating well and working out a healthy diet for yourself for the long term.

As Kim told you, the revision usually results in a 20 pound loss.
You have to make a list of the foods that you can eat and then figure out how much of them you can eat to keep your calories low enough to lose weight. The highest you can go will be 1200 calories a day of high protein and low carb. As you lose weight, you will have to lower that calorie requirement.
The only way to lose weight and keep it off is by reducing calories.
RNY is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You lose the weight after RNY because the intestines do not absorb food. After 2 years the intestines learn how to absorb food again. A smaller stomach only helps in feeling fuller on less food, but you only lose the weight if you reduce the calories.
Everyone goes through life after weight loss surgery. You can deal with it by eating or by finding other ways to cope with the stress. If you deal with it by eating then you gain your weight back.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I'm so sorry you went through all that, Margie. That's awful :(
It might be good to see about getting some support for all of that first...I'd try to find a counselor if you do not have one. No one should have to go through so many painful things alone.
As for revisions, as was mentioned many of the options don't necessarily work very well. Many people have revised from the RNY to the DS and have seen decent weight loss, but the DS requires a huge commitment and requires diligence with vitamins and protein for life. Even a DS will not have ideal weight loss if you are eating a poor diet, though, and the consequences for eating poorly are much more serious with it. Still, it has very good results if you can be compliant with vitamins and diet.
Even before you revise though, I would address the vomiting though and other physiological issues before a revision too, as those should not be normal that far out from surgery.
Whatever you decide, good luck.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Howdy,
I am a two time revision. Slipped band to sleeve and then issues with reflux, hernia , trouble swallowing and now RNY. I consider myself to be a successful revision but of course, I haven't been revised from RNY to something else. I would think the options would be DS or ROSE or Stomaphyx. My girlfriend who had RNY had the ROSE and she lost all of her regain of 35-40 lbs.
As other posters have said, it might be a good idea to address the mechanical issues you have first. I know that my reflux was so bad I was vomiting regular and all I could eat was soft foods or crackers/crunchy stuff. Made it hard to lose weight and I regained 50 lbs of my losses of 170 lbs. It is tough to maintain when you have issues.
