How much food can you eat at one sitting?iI
I'd be happy to help anyway I can. At 6mos post op I'd lost about 75lbs. I just looked up a typical day of eating I was doing at 7 weeks out in MFP (which is what I use daily to track food and my weight). Here's an average day at 7 weeks:
B: Dannon carmel apple pie greek yogurt
L: 70 calorie Tuna Pouch, Light balsamic vinegar dressing (1 tbl), 1/2 yellow raw pepper
S: 3.5 oz shrimp with sugar free ****tail sauce
D: 2 oz for ground beef and 2 oz of sauteed mushrooms
S: babybel light
Calories 423, protein 67, carbs 30, fat 12
I had a lot of tuna, cottage cheese and greek yogurt in the beginning. I slowly added more dense protein so that I was eating chicken, beef and pork and less cottage cheese and greek yogurt, etc. but my calories stayed between 400-500 calories for quite a while during the losing phase and at 6 mos out I was eating between 500-600 calories. I very slowly added calories in 100 calorie increments but during the losing phase I rarely went over 800 calories and never did more than 900. I didn't do a whole lot exercise wise but I did try to walk and got good advise here to be more active which spoke to me more than the gym did.
Keep in mind though that everyone is different and what worked for me may not work for you. One thing for sure is to listen to the vets that are here and helping. That's the advice I took and it worked. Post on the menu board daily, keep track of your food intake and weight in my fitness pal and measure everything. After having the band you may be looking for that semi full stuck feeling we once had... it doesn't happen with RNY and if you keep trying to find that you'll eat too much, not to mention this early out you don't really feel hungry or full anyway because of the nerves being cut. Just make a plan and stick to it like it's your job and your body will do what it can to shed the weight. Feel free to ask me anything you'd like and I'll help as much as I can! Good Luck

Yes, always greek yogurt, I think it was the light 80 calories one. Now on the rare occasion I have yogurt it's Fage plain greek and I add PB powder. I did have protein shakes if I needed more protein. I tried to get it from food but if I didn't hit at least 60gm I drank premier protein or Unjury.

Hey! First, step back and breath. Panicking will just make you want to eat (or at least it always makes me want to eat, granted everything makes me want to eat lol).
Im not a vet, so take this with a grain of salt.
But I think you're asking the wrong question. You ask "how much can you eat?", I think it's better to ask "how much should I eat?"
your nut said 1 cup of food? Then don't eat more than that. Don't even put more than that on your plate. It doesn't matter if you can eat more, it matters that you choose not to. Personally, my meals never* weigh more than 4oz (not including sauces) at a time. Just don't even give yourself the option to overeat. Toss the extra away. It doesn't matter if you feel "full" right now. Hunger isn't an emergency AND it's often inaccurate. Just make sure you're getting the nutrition you need.
*i have eaten more than 4 oz, but only when I make poor decisions or eat slider foods like Halo Top or carbs.
Hi. I am about also about 7 weeks out from surgery, and pretty much eat about 1/2-3/4 cups of food per meal. And, I always start with dense protein. This almost always fills me up before I can even get to veggies. Dense protein is the other thing that gives me real restriction and feeling of being full. I'm sure that I could eat a lot more soft "slider" foods, but I haven't even tried. Hang in there, and try to listen to your Nutritionist and the great resources on this site!

No. Meat won't be slider food.

I'm only 4-1/2 weeks out but I'm still only at 1/2 cup I've moved into the soft food phase but since mashed veggies has no appeal anyways, I'm sticking to protein mainly, although I will admit to the occasional tablespoon or so of mashed potatoes. If I try to eat more than 3-4 oz. of protein I feel ill (not a lot of fun).
So I'm sticking with that, not sure why you're eating cream of wheat? we only had it as a filler at the beginning and I never had that as I was trying for eggs/yogurt for breakfast.
