We are. We don't walk early here like we do at home for just this reason. It also helps that Lily is super aware and skittish.

Good morning! Nothing major happening to me today, just another day in paradise :) I do think the scale might be finally starting to budge, but it was only a pound, so trying not to be too excited about it in case I jinx the scale!

I didn't do my full normal workout yesterday because our gym was packed! It's normally busy in the "after work" hours but I had to actually wait for an elliptical, and when one freed up, I grabbed it but I wasn't the only one waiting. So I did a mile, but not the 30 minutes I normally do, so others could have a turn. I'm hoping I will be cleared to restart weight training after my next appointment (next week).

qotd: I feel like small acts of bravery are probably taking place everywhere, and people are probably being courageous when it seems like they aren't to the unknowing eye. My mom suffers from anxiety and depression and sometimes I feel like she's being brave and courageous just by getting out of the house and engaging in the world when I know she'd rather be in bed.

Accountability: had a snack when I got home that I really probably didn't need. It was a salami and provolone snack from Costco.

breakfast: trying a breakfast bowl thing I found at the store. I crack an egg into it, stir, and throw it in the micro for a minute. The stats didn't look bad on it. Since I can't finish much more than one egg, I might reheat the rest for a snack mid morning.

lunch: Mediterranean chicken skewer with buffalo sauce

dinner: apple bourbon pulled pork

protein shake will be worked in somewhere

back to the gym after work

vitamins on board!

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, watermelon, cashews

Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple, almonds

Dinner: chicken broccoli, Blueberries

We are on the way to the airport to fly to Boston for 2 days for DH's clinical trial appointment.

Accountability NOT GOOD. I had breakfast with friends and sampled too many breads and scones. Then later when packing for today I finished off the leftover lemon poppy seed bread. Sigh...

QOTD: The son of a friend of ours who has Aspergers was able to attain his Eagle Scout status. That was a wonderful celebration! He has since finished college and is in law school.

2 Years post-op tomorrow!

Always lots of coffee...

B: ??? - on the way to the airport now

L: Probably protein bar

D: Probably fish of some sort (out to dinner on Boston harbor with DS)

Hi guys!

I did okay yesterday, except that I could not eat my chicken for supper. Even though I chewed it well and was eating slowly, after 3 or 4 bites it just felt stuck and it hurt in my chest. Sure enough, about 20 minutes later, I was sick. I'm going to lay off chicken for awhile, even though it was fine last week.

I am 4 weeks today.

B: Egg and half a turkey bacon

MS: Shake

L: Turkey and cheese

AS: Shake

S: Soup

I will pretty much get all my protein from the shakes today, but I'm okay with that.

E: I will go for a walk after putting my son on the bus.

All water and vitamins too!

Good morning Daisy and Menu folks. I picked Joddies car up at the dealer last night and they have not been able to duplicate the issue , so I am going to drive it for a while. Busy week for us as we are making sure Ryley is set for his trip to England/Scotland/Ireland , he leaves on Saturday and is Flying out of Montreal.

Accountability - had a small package of fruit snacks, still stayed under 1200 calories for the day.

QOTD - I have the same type of story, the last few months I have noticed a gal in her 20's come in to the gym with her Mom. She is MO and must have lymphedema as her legs are wrapped. I see people stare at her and look at her legs, see the young gals do double takes and it drives me nuts, yet she is there and I see her confidence growing. I say Hi to her whenever I see her. I have been thinking that I wanted to tell her Mom that I had WLS and from my highest weight I am 100 lbs lighter, do I say something when daughter is not around or do I just keep quiet??????? I admire her courage.

Time since surgery - 3 yrs + 4 mos

B - 2 scrambled eggs and a sausage link

S - oikos triple zero

L - Basil and garlic chicken meatballs with a1

S - Ham roll ups

D- Baked cod

Post workout shake

1178 cal, 48 carbs, 130 protein

Good morning! My menu is a bit different today as I had to grab stuff on the run out the door. Protein bar with apple slices and my coffee for breakfast. I don't have snacks packed, but I have an apple and a couple of granola bars which I reserve for emergencies kicking around at my desk if I feel shaky or just absolutely need something. Since I don't feel hunger or cravings yet, there they sit. Lunch is a protein bar because my morning was a little ridiculous. It was going to be the last of the shepherd's pie that my wife made, but I suspect it was what made me feel a little rough yesterday afternoon. Supper is unknown but plan forward. Probably beef barley soup. Water, water water.....and water. The ride in was very wet, but very good.

QOTD: I was at the gym and there was an old guy there on a treadmill, walking and smiling like he owned the place. He must have been 90. He was enjoying his walk, and quite possibly "the scenery" as well, and it just warmed my heart to see him out there enjoying his evening. As the elliptical and I tried to kill each other (we declared a truce), I watched him shuffle around trying things out and it was pretty awesome. He just grinned the whole time.

One more thing comes to mind. My daughter had an opportunity to bring a book or a toy to her class and do a little presentation about it. She opted to bring her piano book and play something on the new piano they put in the classroom, and she marched right up to it, plunked her butt down and rattled off a couple of songs in front of the whole class. She's not a forward type, so it was pretty cool. I didn't see it, but I heard all about it at the supper table. Her little face was absolutely beaming!
