Good morning :)

DH and I have started meal planning dinners for the week in an effort to use up food from our freezer and to prevent nights where we get delivery because we don't know what to make. Last night the plan was ribs with leftovers for tonight. Well, I accidentally took out four racks instead of two (they were doubled up in the packaging). So we invited our friends over for dinner -- we haven't seen them much with everyone being sick.

I also made a couple bariatric friendly recipes this weekend to try and stay on track. I made protein bites and fake cheesecake.

QOTD: I love days with the puppies. They make everything better. I also like when I catch up with family members who I haven't seen lately.

Post-op three years.

Breakfast - fake cheesecake

Snack - cheese and crackers

Lunch - leftover ribs

Snack - apple and pb

Dinner - leftover ribs and veggies

Snack - protein bites and pudding

All water and vits.

Good morning. I had a very good week last week, but Sunday was a bit too carby. I was loving the oatmeal breakfast out with DW on Sundays, but I think I'm going to have to table that until maintenance (not a big bowl - just 1/2 to 2/3rds cup and I add lots of protein and fat to balance it out). But the carb day mindset kicks in and I was actually very happy with lower carbs during the week. So lesson learned and moving on. Oh I made spaghetti squash last night for the first time. That was tastier than I thought it would be. I added 1/2 cup of Rao's spicy sauce and 2oz of turkey meatloaf to about 2/3rds cup of squash. Made a very yummy "spaghetti" - even DW said it was very good (and she doesn't eat my food). My wife laughed because it looks like it's a squash week. Those things kick off a lot of "spaghetti."

Oh NSV - I'm adding spinning to my swimming routine and got all the gear together over the week and made it to a class on Saturday. I told one of the guys in the pool I was going to the Saturday class as a trial run and he just laughed. "Nothing like jumping into the deep end with you, huh?" Apparently Saturday is the advanced class. Kicked my arse, but it was great. Though it was impossible for me to keep my cadence in the required color zone and I had to stop after 40 of the 60 minute class. The color coded group cadence board was pretty cool - I never saw that when I did spinning back in 2010. I'm going to start doing it on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

QOTD - Honestly, my happy moments come when I'm standing at the top of the lane as the first or second swimmer to get to the pool. Then after about three laps, I just love that feeling of pushing off the wall, knowing I got up early and made the effort to get there. The smaller things - walking into Speedway after working out and seeing that they have a ready pot of Espresso Blend coffee (yeah, I know caffeine - but I went almost two years without it and it was too much to go a lifetime). Big smile from those. Oh and not having any emergency email when I walk in the office - like this morning. So far today has been great - have a nice day all!

B - 2 scrambled egg; 2 turkey bacon

S - Fage yogurt 5 fl oz and .5 oz nuts

L - Small salad, turkey meatloaf 3 oz

S - Clear Protein (got use it up before May expiration)

D - Same as last night - Spagetti squash leftovers

S - SF popsicles, 1/4 of quest bar in form of eggface cookies

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family,

Sorry I haven't been posting as regularly lately. My computer crashed and I'm trying to get used to using Saralisa's old laptop.

I had a great weekend. I got to go horseback riding again and rode a beautiful palomino horse named Frosty. Usually Frostly lags behind, but yesterday she would stop to eat grass, then trot to catch up with the others, so I got a lot of trotting in!

QOTD: Talking to Saralisa, loving up my doggies, hearing Pigeon softy coo coo, seeing a pretty bird on the bird feeder, etc.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 91, Calories - 1,290, Carbs - 158.

Morning!
Stopping in quickly, busy homework day ahead.

QUOTd: What a wonderful question. I love being able to read poems by Wendell Berry when it's nice and warm an sunny. I love my daily calls with my Mom. I also have a very sweet quiet time in the morning where I get to journal, pray, sing, read my Bible, and then center myself for the day. Also, hot chocolate with whip cream.

A: Guys, I broke down and had some Halo Top. I had a friend staying with me and while I chose not to get any, she did buy some. He left half in my freezer. Then I ate it after she left. Siiigh. I can not have that stuff anywhere near me. It makes me want all the sweet stuff. But! Yesterday I went to walmart with a different friend. She bought some and tried to pressure me into buying some. And even though I wanted it really bad, I said no.

M:
Unsure. Definitly back to meat to get away from the cravings.
I made some Tuscan style chicken, so probably that.

Good Morning! Happy Monday, I'm on vacation this week so some of days will have TBD meals and different format since I'm posting from my phone. We dropped off Em at her breakaway camp yesterday afternoon- can't wait until Thursday to pick her up and hear about her experience.

good morning everyone!

My weekend was pretty full but it was nice. I got a lot done on Saturday and in the afternoon we went for an "Easter BUNNY hunt" lol...trying to find a spot we might be able to see him without having to pay $40 for a photo that took 2 minutes to create. We were successful but they had him outside in a little tent thing so it was very cold and windy! luckily there was literally nobody else there so we didnt need to wait in line. Story was SO excited about it, talking about him the entire drive, and when she saw him she ran up to the tent, but as soon as she got close, she panicked a little and didnt want to stand or sit by him and made me hold her for the pictures LOL.
Spent most of the day yesterday at my sister's house, we dyed eggs and the kids played and we got to have some nice sister chat time, which I always enjoy.

QOTD: When hen my online library automatically sends a book I've had on hold for forever to my kindle!
When my husband and I actually have time to relax and have deep and meaningful discussions outside of just every day life. When my daughter says something super sweet out of the blue, or wants to snuggle with me (this is getting more and more rare). When I get an email or text from my BFF/twin soul who lives 9 hours away and I only get to see once a year or so. When I get a call from my cousin and we chat about nothing and laugh for an hour...all great things.

MS : Coffee w/ Caramel Premier protein
B: egg salad w/cottage cheese and chopped smoked sausage
L: leftover "stuffed pepper" casserole (turkey italian sausage, green peppers, onions, kale, tomatoes & italian cheese)
AS: baby bel cheese and/or 1oz cashews (depends how hungry I feel)
D: leftovers again probably

E: I am going to start a more rigorous exercise today since it's my 6week post op mark today...
probably start off with 20 mins on the elliptical and see how I feel...will work myself up to more gradually!

Have a great Monday everyone!
