Hello you guys! Happy Monday!
Still settling into the new place here. One of my two Siamese cats (sisters who will be 17 come October) is blind, and over the past couple of months it's become obvious that she has become virtually deaf, as well. Poor little girl! It's terribly tough to get to know a brand new home when you can neither see nor hear. Poor girl wanders around meowing and bumping into things, and can only seem to hear a few sharp, high sounds - seemingly not my voice at all. I had taken along their cat tree in the move, because I felt it would help them to have something so familiar, and they always liked to perch up high on it, overlooking the room. I was busy in another room when I heard Mia, the blind cat, meowing loudly with an intense note of fear and desperation in her voice. I found her on the very top platform of the cat tree, 7.5 feet in the air. She couldn't see how to get back down but was clearly aware of, and freaked out by, her altitude. I dragged out the step stool and got her down. I wish I could help her more. I know this whole thing is very hard on her.
QOTD: there are so many! I try to be very aware of my incredibly beautiful environment. Right outside my door is a perfectly formed cherry tree in which the little songbirds love to perch. It is not yet in bloom, but has a very sweet, graceful quality. It is a profoundly feminine tree - even the bark has a pink sheen. Just looking at it lifts my spirits. Also, the mountains up here are magnificent! They are still snow-covered, rearing high into the blue sky.
First: huge, 19-ounce mug of tea with cashew milk, the first of at least five today.
B: turkey. Smoked gouda.
L: ham
D: chicken thigh, green beans.
Have a wonderful day, my fellow RnYers!
