Last night I went to see a concert. I haven't been to one in a long time.
This one was standing the whole time.
When I was 322 pounds I couldn't have done this.
The only thing was I wore my boots. My feet hurt like a Mo Fo.
It was so much fun. We were so close to the stage.
Trust me this morning I am tired. But happy I am able to do this now.
Please share your NSVs.
Hearing them when I first started out when the scale wouldn't move. Even now they help.
My scale is moving down. Just feeling better makes it so worth it.
I don't have many yet at only a little over 5 weeks out, but my blood sugars are normal and I'm off all diabetes medicine :)

One I thought of today once again, is I never get tired of being able to run up the stairs in my house. When I was morbidly obese I would come down for the day, and only go back up when it was time for bed.
And I love hiking and running... who would've thunk?

We hiked all over Manhattan! :D That was so great. I love being able to walk miles and miles with no discomfort and being ready to go again the next day. Disney World/Universal would have ended me at 348 lbs! Also going up the stairs in our new building at work for a meeting and not sounding like a freight train afterwards is great.

Oh that's one of my favorite kinds of hiking - I call it urban hiking. Walking the streets of NYC and stopping for Starbucks. Or the Paris version walking the streets then stopping at a cafe.
I have gone back to various Maison Kayser restaurants at least 3 times since I discovered it with you.

My recent NSVs:
I'm wearing clothes that I haven't fit in since 2013.
I went on a trip last month and didn't need a seat belt extender on the flights.
Yesterday, I fit comfortably in a theater seat that squished the heck out of me this time last year!
I've most definitely lost 1 of my "extra chins", so pictures are much more fun to take. :-)
RNY: 12/19/2017. Height: 5'5. Highest weight: 287. Weight at beginning of process: 276.4. Weight at start of pre-op diet: 270. Surgery weight: 266.5. Current weight (5/20/2019): 182
In December, six weeks post-op, I was able to stand through our choir concert. Haven't been able to do that in three years (I used to have a chair behind me and sit between songs). I can wear heels and wedges again without limping due to knee pain. I took my daughter shopping in NYC and walked all over town without a problem, didn't have to worry about getting in and out of the back seat of a Prius when we took cabs, and fit comfortably in the seat at a Broadway show. When I go to conferences and my group decides to walk to dinner, I know I can get there easily.
So far, it's going up stairs, which I can do easily now, unfortunately I still can only do down stairs one at a time as my one knee won't bend past 90 degrees, but I'm hoping as the weight goes down it might get better too. My blood sugar is way down easily within "normal" range I'm hoping when I see my endocrinologist next month I'll be able to at least stop Insulin, that will be a big victory.
