Since your nerves were cut, you likely won't feel restriction for another few weeks anyway, so it's smart that you measure 2 oz! I think a mid-morning snack of a hard-boiled egg or a slice of deli meat or a babybel cheese would be a great bridge to lunch. Six hours between meals is a bit long when you're only having 2 oz of food in a sitting. So perhaps give that a try and see if it helps! :)

Definitely willing to experiment! Honestly, I'm somewhat disappointed that I feel hungry so soon after surgery, though I know it happens. It happened again today (I had a string cheese), so I'm pretty sure it's not head hunger

Well I wish I was one of those lucky people who is 10 years out and still hasn't felt hunger but mine never really went away either. Head hunger or actual hunger...I still got it. Luckily I also have a pouch that minimizes my intake, and I have (for the most part) the willpower to make good decisions. I certainly could eat a gallon of ice cream over a day and likely be fine, but that would not help me live my best life of being active, without sore knees, and moving through the world at a normal size, so I don't self-sabotage in that way :) But I certainly can see how people don't reach goal or reach it and then regain a good amount. Crackers, popcorn, yogurt, ice cream...these are things I could probably eat in mass quantities. As long as you feel hungry and reach for a piece of string cheese or a piece of meat or an egg or something high protein, you should still do well! Just log it and track it and see if there are any things that trigger that hunger. It might just be that waiting from 7 am to 1 pm is too long. But if it's stress-related, for example, that's a time to examine what's happening in our noggins :)

Yeah I've been working on emotional and boredom eating with a therapist, and I'm at a point where if I have an urge to eat, I can step back and figure out why--if I'm truely hungry, or thirsty, or if I just need to occupy my hands or head.

Im glad the only person I currently live with is less than a year out of RNY himself, we don't keep things in the house that aren't good choices, except for the rare special occasion (we ate our frozen wedding cake on our anniversary in October, for example). That part, at least has been somewhat easy!

G'morning all.

My fun time in DC came to an end. :( On my way to the airport. Yesterday was such a glorious snowy day. We had brunch around 10:30 and then walked in the beautiful snow to American History Museum and then to AFrican American museum. I was in awe. Last night I took DD and her bf to dinner. It was so funny, the kid was so nervous. I couldn't help but laugh. He is a good kid and dd's first serious bf.

Accontabilty: Good. Brunch was all protein. Lunch at the African museum they had only "southern" fried food so I had almonds. Dinner at Indian restaurant I had the protein and skipped the rice.

QOTD; As Mike can testify I'm hooked on Deisgnated Survivor on Hulu at the moment. But on Netflix I just finished Rectify. It's not action packed but very intense.

Menu: I have two hard boiled eggs in my bag. The rest of the day is up in the air until I get home this afternoon.

Happy Thursday everyone.

Safe travels! I bet DC in the snow and their partial shutdown was like having the whole city to yourself!

Thanks! Actually there were a lot of people around, tourists didn't stop going around bcz the government shut down!;)

The great part was that classes got cancelled so I had DD to myself all day.

I like that show too. I watched it when I was taking care of a friend who has every possible station. I did that with Outlander too.

I liked the boyfriend story.

Happy Thursday!! I am so tired...but I'm more than half way through week one back at work and I wisely am giving myself a relatively unscheduled weekend to recover! Yesterday kicked my butt but I was proud of myself for getting on the treadmill at 8 at night even though I really didn't want to -- got in about 35 minutes vs the 45 I had planned but also got over my 10K steps for the day. I also got required protein, vitamins in but was a little light on water.

QOTD: I love the Marvel series on Netflix so I did binge watch Season 2 of Jessica Jones before I went back to work; I'm also a big fan of the Hap and Leonard series which kept me company on my treadmill yesterday!

B: Protein coffee (4oz fairlife skim plus 8 oz coffee)

S: Protein Coffee

Lunch - Chobani non fat Greek yogurt

S: Protein water

Dinner: 1 string cheese, 1 oz deli turkey breast chopped

Totals: 450 calories, 69 protein, 18 carbs

I have a question for those of you that use PP with your coffee -- do you use it like half and half with just a little in each cup or is it like a cafe au lait where it's half PP, half caffieney goodness?

I do it more like the cafe au lait, maybe 2 parts coffee and 1 part PP.
