What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Good Morning!
It's a snow day here in Maryland. It is so pretty to watch but I am ready for the warmer winds of Spring.
QOTD: My hubster had rny about three hours after me on the same day. We are on the same page. His mother is being sleeved in early summer - she finally gets it. My family is supportive and always worried if there is 'something I can eat' when we have a get-together. My take is this, I chose this way of life and I come prepared if the menu is questionable. No worries.
B: protein shake
S: 2 pieces of turkey bacon
L: 2 ounces of ham and cheese roll ups and 1 Hershey kiss
S: protein shake
D: fish and riced cauliflower
Water: I am going for 96 ounces today but will update that later as well.
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good morning!
Woke up to about 3 inches of snow. Mother Nature getting one more round in.
QOTD: I only told my family and close friends I was having surgery. All of them except one friend was very supportive. My mom came to some of my appts so she could get better knowledge of it. The one friend who wasn't supportive was only that way because he is such a foodie and beer fan. He saw it as not being able to eat good.
B: protein shake
L: Greek yogurt
D: protein shake
E: walking

Good morning everyone!
I am definitely OVER the cold/snow/wind/Winter in general...I am ready for Spring and Summer to be here like yesterday. We got a teaser about a month ago with some 60's and 70's temps but that's the midwest for you. I am not a fan of winter (but my husband loves it so much that my daughter's middle name is Winter - I got to pick her first name though).
I feel like I have been coming down with a cold for 3 days now (My daughter and Husband are both sick) but maybe my copious amounts of vitamins are helping me fight it off? LOL...not sure. feeling a bit achey and bleh but so far nothing serious. I kind of just want it to hit me already so I can get over it and not keep anticipating it!
QOTD: My husband and I both made the decision for WLS together and went to the seminars, appointments, etc together so I know he is on board. He is scheduled for his RNY in early May so he still eats what seems to me to be enormous portions and pretty frequently, but he has gotten better about his food choices - he says he is nervous about making all the changes especially after seeing me do it, but he also knows it will work out for the best and he will learn to get used to it.
I am very close to my immediate family, and when I first told them about my decision they were all very concerned...worried it was "too drastic" or dangerous. My sister was probably the biggest nay-sayer but she has been thin most of her life ****il recently- after having 2 kids in 3 yrs and pregnant again) and I don't think she has ever understood how much of a struggle it has been for me. My mom was mostly concerned because of the actual surgical risks (she's a retired nurse), and my Dad who has never really been all that interested in much about my life, has been spending time researching online, and actually told me that he is proud of me and wants to give me money for new clothes...it shocked me to tears.
My sister is supportive of me now and she just wants the best for me, she told me after my surgery that she was just worried that I would risk my life just to be thin when there were people who loved me just the way I was. I told her I understand that, but I need to love myself in order to accept that others can love me too, and this is a way for me to do something completely selfish (maybe for the first time in my life) so I can take that step. My hope is that my 3 year old will grow up with fit parents and won't remember us as being obese...she is very active and athletic and I hope to encourage her to stay that way.
B: egg bite w/sprinkle of white cheddar and 1 turkey pepperoni
MS: coffee w/caramel premier protein
L: leftover cauliflower/turkey sausage bake
AS: either a light greek yogurt I brought or baby bel cheese
D: turkey/cheese/avocado roll up

Good morning~ It was POURING SO HARD on my drive this morning and of course DARK so visibility was super craptastic. Not fun. I can't wait for April!!!!! My son graduates from boot camp and I'm getting married!!
QOTD - They don't understand, they just don't. Just this morning I was complaining of my pants being tight and Rob said -good, that means your not wasting away! Huh? Now that I've lost so much weight, he still doesn't understand why I can't eat what he does or like I used to. But the most difficult person for me is actually my sister who had the sleeve before I had RNY. We both weighed the same at the start - she lost 70 pounds and says she is perfectly happy at 230 pounds and she has maintained for 18 months. I can't say anything right to her about weight so I NEVER bring it up. She always asks me what I weigh and when I am going to stop losing...I told her I wanted to get to a normal BMI once and she was so offended by my use of the word 'normal' and went into an Oprah style lecture of women and weight stereotypes and what the average woman's size truly is...very defensive and yet it had nothing to do with her. So I downplay everything about my surgery and losses now.

Mornin!
I can't believe I haven't posted yet! Not much going on today. Still feeling slightly achy, but definitely a huge improvement. At this point I just feel like I had a good workout the night before (although I haven't exercised since I had the infusion on Friday). Will probably go to Aqua Zumba tonight - I feel like I can start up with all this again.
tomorrow I go to the hospital for (most of) the day. I'm being evaluated for participation in a longitudinal Alzheimer's study. I'm hoping I'll make it since I really want to participate in this research. I suspect I'm at high risk (and they want people at risk) since three of my four grandparents, plus my father, all had dementia. Plus I have very low cholesterol (last time it was checked, 137), which also seems to be correlated with Alzheimer's, from what I've read. Given that, I'd be very surprised if I don't carry a genetic predisposition for it.
QOTD: hmmm....I haven't dealt with this that much. I was a healthy eater even before I had surgery (I just ate way too much), so what I'm eating hasn't changed that much - it's just my portion size is much smaller. But people know I've lost a ton of weight and that I'm fighting hard to keep it off, so they really don't question it. The only person *****ally gave me a hard time was my stepmother, who kept trying to force food on me (including crap food) the couple of times I've stayed with her, insisting it "wouldn't hurt". Luckily she lives in North Carolina, so I rarely see her. As far as the fluids thing, I slam water before eating, and I'm not sure if anyone has noticed that I don't drink any more once I start eating (or after). If so, they haven't said anything. I let the wait staff fill my glass when they come by, even if I know I won't be drinking anymore. I figure that way there will be even less suspicion.
accountability was great yesterday
