What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Good morning menu folks! It is a snow day but I am teleworking anyway since that is the agreement. I love snow, but since I can't shovel, I am hoping that it doesn't amount to alot.
It is almost 5 weeks since my surgery and I return to the office PT the first week in April. The time really has gone quickly.
QOTD: My mom really tries to understand but doesn't always get it right. My wife is pretty good about being supportive most of the time, but she still eats alot of carbs that are tempting.
Menu:
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, chicken breast, plain oatmeal
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, cantaloupe, walnuts
Lunch: ham-black bean soup, baby carrots
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple, almonds
Dinner: salmon, broccoli slaw
Exercise: With the weather, I will probably stay in

Feeling rushed today- poor planning on my part. Will have to go in early to get work done.
Family supports decision but worry that I get obsessive about food. Yesterday was hard because I was having trouble with supper trying to get protein in but stay within carbs and fat. Well done meats give me pain even when eating slow and chewing. DH was saying just don't worry so much. But I don't want to get sick or have no energy to do job. We talked for a while and figured out what to eat (tired of eggs and chicken and tuna). Long story short -- going to see therapist to make sure I'm not obsessing or if I am to get more skills to cope better. My oldest sister had wls 10 years ago and is super supportive. DD tries to help but doesn't know what to do so just tells me I'm doing good.
B. Protein waffle with sf syrup and strawberries
L. Flavored Tuna pack with 2 Tbsp raw nut mix
D.pork chop with yellow squash
S protein shake
Lots of hot tea. Doing all chewable vitamins so easy to do.
Wishing all a great day.

hi all
Ended up with a pretty pedicure yesterday, and tilapia and broccoli for lunch. it was so yummy. Roof is not leaking for the moment thank goodness.
QOTD: yes my mom didn't get it and kept bringing up all the people she knew that had gained all their weight back. It really honked me off. Now within the past 6-7 months she has taken my nutritional advice and has lost 70 pounds. she looks and feels great. I hope she sticks with it!
Food for today will be easy for me as I was not feeling well last night.
Chicken
shake/coffee
tons of water
not sure on dinner just yet
Glad to hear the roof is good. You will have some good luck soon! Geez..you take it well though Hilary - and I laughed out loud with your " really honked me off " comment.....

Good morning! I'm so glad it's almost spring I can't even describe it. It seems like it has been a long winter, but likely because I spent so much time out in it between my commutes, shoveling and chasing the kids around. Last fall as the weight was falling off, I was thinking that I'd be frozen all the time (I was right) and I wouldn't spend much time outside as a result. Was I wrong about that last part! I walked all winter in whatever weather and never took the bus once (I hate our transit system, and it only takes me 15 minutes longer to walk). Time sure is flying though.
Menu: Pretty good today. Accountability, I had a handful of mini pretzels with my protein shake snack yesterday. Other than that it was fine. When I do something like that from time to time, I re-read my pre-surgical notes and journal entries, and it gives me that kick in the arse to step up my game. I don't beat myself up about it, I did that enough my whole life as I gained.
Protein shakes and bars today, back to the grind. Supper will be on-plan, then meeting with my real estate agent tonight about listing the house. How exciting, I think. I hate moving, packing, even though I've done it so much.
QOTD: I think the few people I've told get the mechanical and physiological aspects (what I need to eat, etc.) but I'm not sure they all understand the "why". That's OK. They don't have to. Most of them have never been heavy, let alone almost 400 lbs. I'm not worried about them though, because I understand it. They support me fully, and they see how much I've changed physically and psychologically for the better. We're cool.
Good morning everyone! Hope you're all having a great day. - and not too much snow. My brother-in-law texted a pic of their place in PA - there was no snow when we were there on Sunday, and they have a bunch now! So weird that we have none. Even when we were driving down- there was a lot of snow once we hit Niagara, and then all through New York and through PA- until about Pittsburgh I would say.
Accountability- I did ok - I ate more than I should have at the potluck but it was protein forward and good choices. I had meatballs instead of meatloaf for dinner.
Menu:
B: Protein Shake
L; leftover meatballs
D: Not decided yet
There will be a snack too but I don't know what it is. My meal planning is a mess this week as I haven't had a chance to grocery shop since we got back.
Vitamins are ready to be taken, and water is on track.
Workout will happen tonight after bible study.
Have a great day everyone!
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Forgot the QOTD. My DH is supportive but doesn't get it at all and does not change his eating habits. He always has junk food in the house. My kids are amazing. They really seem to get it and are incredibly supportive.

Good morning :)
So I'm not loving *****ing my finger everyday -- kudos to people who need daily checks, needles, and other painful treatments. Today I have a midwife appointment. The nurse yesterday told the class that if anyone had a midwife and ever had to take insulin for gestation diabetes that they would no longer be able to be cared for by a midwife and would have to transfer care to an OB. So far my sugars have been good so there is motivation to be good with diet and exercise.
QOTD: I am so lucky in my family because my aunt had lap-band and my mom was in the process for WLS when I had my surgery. My whole family struggles with weight, so it's a great support system. My DH's family is not quite as supportive, because they are all quite healthy and slim.
Post-op three years.
Breakfast - Greek yogurt and banana
Snack - pb and carrots
Lunch - cheese sandwich
Snack - protein bar
Dinner - chicken and veg
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
