Top o' the morning! I rode my bike in on this gloriously freezing first day of spring, and I'm a meat popsicle right now. I've been here over an hour and the coffee isn't even helping, LOL. I'll warm up in another couple of hours or so, but if anyone wants their drink chilled, hand me the glass for a minute, I've got this.
Accountability was good yesterday and I dropped another 1.5 lbs. Almost where I want to be (still well below goal and dropping) in time for my 1-year appointment on Friday. I can hardly wait. They say to do your bloodwork 2 weeks prior, and I forgot to fast the Thursday night before (March 8th) so I did it Monday the 11th. I hope it arrives in time. They're pretty good about that stuff, but if not, I'll check up on everything else and they can review the bloodwork when it comes in, I guess.
Menu: Protein bars and shakes today. I've been all screwed up in my routine for some reason, but I don't mind doing this. It's a great way to really limit the calories with minimal tracking (short term) while my brain is focused primarily on work. Lots of overtime and such to meet deadlines. Supper will likely be chili. That seems to be a staple in my house year-round, which is fine by me.
QOTD: Looking at the symptoms I wouldn't say I've had RH. I don't tend to dump (though one bite too many leaves me feeling awful for 15 minutes or so).
The only thing I've noticed intermittently, and it happened yesterday, was a slight dizzy feeling. No other symptoms I've read about with RH (heart racing, sweat, tiredness, etc.) and I realized it was likely because I was a little bit low on my water consumption for the day. I got up too fast and felt it. When I got home yesterday, I ate a handful of peanuts and an apple slice, and it helped. My small pouch day combined with low water intake has sometimes caused a bit of light-headedness. I've had my iron tested and all bloodwork comes back as fine (thus far). I guess I'll find out if there's anything to tweak on Friday.
G'morning all.
Post and run. I'll come back to read.
Wonderful day yesterday with DD. Walked 8 miles to Capitol, museums, etc. Took her & 7 of her friends out to dinner. Such a young inspiring ambitious group. I have so much hope for our future. They were talking about peace corps, one of them had just come back from Kenya for a semester abroad! I was in awe...these girls ROCK!!!
today I'm planning to visit the library of Congress and the Supreme Court. The plan was to walk everywhere but I woke up this morning to torrential rain and 36 degrees. So I guess metro it is.
QOTD: I don't know if it's dumping or RH but I get shaky, literally my hands shake, kinda dizzy, sweat profusely and then I just wanna lay down. Since surgery it has happened twice (both when I "tried" frozen yogurt) and I don't like the feeling.
Accountability: I didn't eat enough yesterday, one quest bar for brk/lunch and at dinner I was so busy listening and talking that I ate half of the lamb burger and it got stuck!!! Food wise didn't do well, cals and protein way low.
Menu today is TBD, depends what I find but protein forward. I have a quest bar in my purse in case I can't find anything adequate.
E: if the rain stops, lots of walking.
Happy Tue!

Yep that's RH 100%. The froyo is basically liquid sugar and absorbs quicker than other foods.
Good to know. I'll stay away from froyo. The yuck feeling is not worth it.

Good morning. I bumming as I was really looking forward to swimming this morning, but I accidentally tore a layer of skin off my knee right before bed. Yes, don't just rip an Elastikon bandage off your skin like - I'll just get this over with in a second. Ouch. It was sore all night and knew swimming would have put me over the edge given the location. I took some of my wife's "Shark Tank" purchase of that Doc cream (medic in a tube), so we'll see how that goes ;) I'm sure I'll be fine for tomorrow, so I just switched my off day this week.
Accountability - I was okay, but we had to work late last night and my boss brought in candy for the troops. He was nice and brought me an apple (this is the same guy who made sure to carry my computer in and out of the building right after my surgery - really a nice man). I wasn't going to eat it, but after we got to 6:30pm I was hungry and ate it with a small bag of almonds. Thankfully I changed my dinner later to just a small salad and some sashimi vs. the planned brisket. But a few extra unplanned items and a few more carbs then planned. No grazing last night, so looking forward to continuing that.
QOTD - I mentioned yesterday that I had some ice cream over the weekend and wondered if the bloated feeling was some form of RH. With the question of the day and reading responses I know I didn't have RH and never have. So I'm wondering if I'm just responding to the richness of the ice cream (fat or sugar, or both) or getting a little lactose intolerant. Either way my body is telling me that ice cream doesn't agree with me, so that is just a reinforcer to not have that again.
B - 2 scrambled eggs in Pam, 2 turkey bacon
S - Fage and .5oz nuts
L - 3 oz turkey and a small salad
S - .8 oz cheese (I'm liking the cheese afternoon snack thing - very filling and satisfying until dinner)
D - Brisket and small salad
S - SF popsiciles

Hi everyone!
I'm doing great. Yesterday was my first day back at work. Luckily, my work is pretty flexible and accommodating, that I'm able to work part-time from home this week to ease back into it. It went well, and it was easy to get back into the swing of things!
Accountability: Stayed on plan yesterday.
QOTD: I'm only 3 weeks out and haven't had any episodes...yet, I suppose, though I have no plans to test it out, but as I've learned, as you add new foods, you don't know how your pouch will react.
Time since surgery: 3 weeks today. (I weighed in and I've lost 40lbs since pre-op! - 24 during optifast and 16lbs since surgery. CW is 302lbs, so I'm only 2 lbs away from being out of the 300s! I know I have a long road to go, but it's a nice little motivator this morning.
B: Skyr Yogurt
S: Protein Shake (I'm out of premier protein, so I'll make a shake of some sort with just protein powder.)
L: Egg (either scrambled with a bit of low-fat cheese, or I'll make an egg salad of some sort)
D: Soup or chicken (it depends if we pick up a rotisserie chicken for the rest of the family for supper)
E: I've been taking two walks a day (morning and afternoon).
