After having bypass surgery
Im wondering. I had 4 miscarriages in the past an gave up on having children at 38. I'm having surgery on may 2nd of this year and everyone is telling me that after having bypass surgery an loosing weight that I will get pregnant. Is that true? Have anyone else experience this before? If this is true I should've thought of this year's ago. Lol
My doctor recommends two methods of birth control for the first 18 months after surgery, as many women have a drastic spike in fertility after weight loss, however, it's not safe to sustain a pregnancy during that "honeymoon" phase.

Hi Yell,
That stood to be true for me with my last son... I had 3 miscarriages prior to conceivng him... I had my first gastric bypass surgery August 28, 2003... conceive my youngest on February 24, 2004 and gave birth October 22, 2004... Although my son is God sent I was a bit disappointed, I had just had a major surgery and I ended up pregnant. I don't feel like I got the best results from my first surgery due to pregnancy... However 15 years later March 27, 2018) I had a revision and I am excited about the outcome... better health and a better me!!!
