Ahhh I love that show!! It films near where I live. I didn't know that until they were filming a motorcade scene and I got stopped by police to let them drive by. I was so excited when I saw that scene on the show ;)

G'morning all.

Just landed in DC. Red eye flight out of CA (ugh). I am finally in the same time zone of a lot of you early risers. It's pretty cold, 28 degrees! Brrrrr! Can't wait to see DD later today. Gotta drop my bags and literally run to the Capitol because my tour was scheduled for 9:30 am (flight landed at 7:30). It will be fun no matter what.

QOTD: where I come from locals eat a lot of hare. DD was appalled the first time SIL made it.

menu is all up in the air but protein forward.

E: there will be lots of walking the next 3 days.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi all- busy and not busy weekend. Friday we bought flooring for laundry area, two bathrooms. Saturday I relaxed and took it easy. Sunday had therapy and layed the flooring in laundry all by myself. almost done also! Need to wait on drywall to be finished before I finish up. Our roof is also almost completed. We ran out of panels at the end and had to order 4 more plus more screws.

QOTD: I've had duck, lamb, gator, squid, snails, shark, swordfish, water buffalo, alpaca, deer, bison. I also make weird crap so my family says- flax bread, chickpea brownies, sweet potato brownies, etc.

Food for today:

rotis chicken

indian butter chicken

zuchinni fitters

yogurt with protein powder

protein cake

Food was pretty on point considering I've felt not so hot this past week. was up .2 pounds this morning.

Going to try for crossfit tonight at 6:30. we are leaving Friday for a much much needed vacation.

Good morning! I had a great weekend and it was so nice to see the sun. My wife and I got a lot done on our house, finishing up some painting/patching and cleaning. We are contemplating downsizing to a townhouse to free up enough budget that she could quit working and look after things at home instead. She is brilliant, strong and has great work ethic, but they are abusing that fact. She is great at her job as a part-time dispatcher (30 hours per week), but they are asking her to do office management tasks on top of her job, expecting her to fill in when a bus driver is not available and not miss her regular duties. She's paid minimum wage, to boot. I can't blame her, so I'd rather do whatever it takes (including selling our home) to ease that stress. Nobody needs that.

I took the girls (while my wife put the tunes on and painted some of the basement) to a local wetland, and we played around in the mud. I am reading "The Chronicles of Narnia" to them, so we would stop at every bench on the path while I read them a couple of chapters. They loved being on an adventure while hearing one read to them.

Food-wise I was good this weekend, except for about 10 mini-easter eggs that fell into my mouth. LOL Other than that it was on point.

Menu: Protein bars and shakes today, until whatever supper is. On plan of course.

QOTD: I grew up on a farm, and regularly hunted and fished. I'd never feed anyone something I hunted without telling them what it was. Even in college, my roommates always knew that the meat in the freezer was something from my treks, and they loved it. I don't hunt much now, but I fish and we regularly enjoy that. Weird stuff? I've eaten pretty well every type of game in North America, but it's not weird to me. Maybe gator is the weirdest thing off the top of my head. I was driving transport and the guys were refueling my rig while the cook, in this little back-woods truck stop showed me the swamp where he got his meat. That gator/catfish dish was incredible, and they sent me on my way with an extra couple of boxes. I stashed it in my cooler with some ice and brought it home (forgetting about it at the border). It was cooked though, so I don't think they'd have said much anyway.

Good morning :)

Not a lot planned for today. I have a ceramic lamp that was made for me when I was born. I want to put it in the baby's room. I could leave it not working but we have decided to try and fix it. It has a little music button that plays Somewhere Over the Rainbow. We have bought batteries to see if that will get the button working. Then I found out the light socket actually doesn't work either. We took it apart last night and I'm going to the hardware store to see if I can find the right part to fix it. DH is calling it my "antique" lamp. I wasn't impressed lol.

QOTD: I'm not an adventurous eater. I tried things like rabbit and deer meat as a kid but I don't really do that now. However, my first thought when reading your story was about us going to a native Canadian restaurant in Vancouver. They had all kinds of meat - steaks, sausages, burgers, etc that were made from gamey meats. It did not end well.

Post-op three years.

Breakfast - protein bar

Snack - apple and pb

Lunch - cheese sandwich

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - leftover beef roast

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Good Morning and happy Monday. Our weekend was good, we have started researching buying a home and spent some time driving around and "checking things out".

Weekend accountability: A few granola bars, extra nuts and a few fries at The Habit happened.

QOTD: I am not a very adventurous eater so probably when I tried calamari about 20 years ago....as I was eating it I thought it was "spongy" and the person I was eating it with said it wasn't cooked "right" and had the waiter take it away, I have never tried it again.

Time since surgery: 3 years 7 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Tuna creations pack-ranch, low carb pita, and Carbmaster yogurt

D: Homemade smoked sausage, mashed cauliflower and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF jam and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1175 Protein:114 Carbs:67 Fat:55

I love calamari! It can get spongy/rubbery if it's not fresh or its overcooked, but there's a sushi place that has it as an appetizer here and I love it.
