Hi all

We had a good weekend and nothing really broke in the house. The kitchen sink though is leaking but DH said he could fix it. Sunday we went to dinner and home depot to buy house stuff. Doing an accent wall out of white wash wood it will look neat then I can hang pots and pans on the one part for kitchen stuff. I went to aquafit saturday at the gym im trying out. it was actually a lot of fun. now to decide what makes sense cost and distance wise. Food was pretty darn good considering.

Crossfit tonight

QOTD: I can't seem to sleep in- Once I'm awake I can't seem to go back to sleep. Sunday morning though I slept till 11!! So unusual!

Food for today:

grilled chicken filet

broccoli/salsa

salad/tuna?

protein cake

Not sure for dinner guess I need to figure that out.

Hello Daisy and all!! I'm up early for an appointment, but I'm going to hit the grocery store 1st, before the bread and milker****!

Accountability: stayed CAMAW all weekend until I found some popcorn last nite

Menu: up in the air, but I do have some meat snacks packed

QOTD: I am usually a good sleeper, but recent events have given me insomnia, this too shall pass...

Glad both boys are home for this storm, it's URI's Spring Break, so if we lose power for an extended time they can start the generator!!!

Stay safe if you're in the snow path!!

Good Morning!

I had a great weekend! I worked for most of it, but it was fun. So I'm not complaining. Well-I may have cursed at the alarm clock this morning--but that's a whole other drama. LOL

Accountability: I had a great weekend. CAMAW last week really kicked me into the right direction again!! I am so pleased. For a while I thought I had broken my tool. Glad to know I haven't!! :)

QOTD: I sleep terribly. And I'm tired all the time. (But that's partly my iron or lack off) I wish I could turn my brain off, but I can't. I go to bed and that's when I wake up. Now, naps? I can nap like no one's business. But then if I nap? I can't sleep at all. So basically I'm just tired all the time.

Menu:

Breakfast: Tea with restoralax, and premier protein.

Snack: Skyr yogurt with protein powder for flavour, and 1 TBLSP of ground flax

Lunch: Tuna-full can with balsamic dressing (Trying it as I saw it on here and I LOVE tuna.)

Snack: Nothing planned. based on last week it wasn't really needed. But I have a sugar free jello or pudding cup in my work fridge in case I need something.

Supper: Steak strips fried with steak seasoning. Some A1 for dipping

Snack: I have chicken cooked and in the fridge ready to go, and some extra steak strips.

Exercise: I'm heading to the gym for a HIIT class and then a yoga class after it. I'm also going to start training for a 5km. I have been half-assing it, and it's one of my goals so this year? I'm getting it done!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning gang! Yep, hard to believe we're already in the middle of March....what's that saying..The days are long but the years are short!

QOTD: I used to sleep like a log - fall asleep quickly and sleep a solid 8 hours without fail. But since WLS...it's a REAL issue; I have a very difficult time falling asleep and when I finally do, it's not long - between 10 minutes and an hour. I don't suffer from seasonal affective disorder (from lack of daylight during our long winter), but decided to try one of those goLITE Blue things to see if it helps. I have it on for the first hour of my day while I have my coffee and catch up on news. I also take melatonin and OTC sleep tablets. It seems to be helping some, maybe it's resetting something in my internal clock - but I can fall asleep quicker most nights, and manage a couple nights a week of 5 or 6 hours, which is a fantastic improvement. I'll keep it going at least until summer when nobody sleeps anyway! ;)

B: 4 oz finnin haddie cooked with 1/2 tsp butter, 1 C black coffee

L: 3.5 oz pork ribs

D: 3.5 oz pot roast with 1/2 c broth

Totals = Cal: 560, Carb: 0, Fat: 22, Protein: 82

Stay safe out there today!

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!

I had a great weekend! I got to go horseback riding again yesterday. I got to ride my favorite horse, Sugar. When I pulled up and got out of my car, Sugar came walking over to where we saddle & bridle them like she recognized me and knew I was there to ride her! I got to brush her, trot and gallop her and feed her some treats. It was windy and cold out, but worth chilled fingers to get to ride. I had so much fun!

QOTD: I take a prescription medication for a sleep disorder (RLS) that puts me to sleep and I also take Melatonin so I conk out pretty fast at night, but I wake up around 5 am each morning, often thanks to my two dogs who seem to think I should get up early in the morning.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 101, Calories - 1,282, Carbs - 131.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: hamburger

D: some microwave meal, probably

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups

E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning :)

Off to see an internist doctor today who I'm hoping will give me the rundown on gestational diabetes testing for people after WLS. The traditional test involves drinking sugar water with 50g of glucose. No thanks.

After that my mom and I are going to pick up groceries to match our menu for the week. With everyone staying here I wanted to plan out our meals so we weren't scrambling each night.

QOTD: I was never a great sleeper - always still felt tired even with 10-12 hours of sleep and napping. Either since surgery or since getting the dogs I'm up early in the morning (usually) and can't fall back to sleep. We will get up, they go outside and eat breakfast, and then snuggle up on my lap and sleep away the rest of the morning. While I'm wide awake lol.

Post-op three years.

Breakfast - protein bar

Snack - apple and pb

Lunch - beef stir-fry leftovers

Snack - turkey sausage

Dinner - beef fajitas

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Accountability: Lots of fast food this week - Ugh and gross! But at least I made the best choices I think I could. No fries, no buns, just meat and cheese. But I didn't get in nearly enough water and the bloat is on. Up 2 lbs. this morning but I'm pretty confident that by being back on plan I can get rid of that in the next few days.

QOTD: I rarely sleep well, but post-surgery was really not well. I sleep the best on my back and turn a lot during the night both of which was impossible for the 1st week or so. I have no problem falling asleep, but staying that way is a different story. I usually take a tylenol pm once a week so I get one fairly good night's sleep during the week.

B: decaf coffee w/chocolate protein drink (Yumm - almost like good hot chocolate!)

L: Tuna Pouch & string cheese

S: 2 pickled eggs

D: Steamed Shrimp

S: Clementine

E: 3 mile walk after work if it's not snowing (That's a new twist - I thought it was going to be sunny)

Morning DD and OHer's, ...I plan on staying most days with CAMAW but today I'm topping my dinner meat with a spinach mixture... I've got my yearly regular Dr's appointment today... really like my Dr...really do not like this yearly thing...oh well.

QOTD I was diagnosed with insomnia in 1985... I had medication for a while but decided to use OTC products instead... I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep... I'm in the process of cutting down/out using sleep aids... so funny that this would be the QOTD today...last night I ended up with 2 sets of night time pills in my pocket.... I evidently forgot to take them Saturday night...slept just fine....hmmmm.

B 1hb egg, 1 bacon (early breakfast)

S 1 hb egg if necessary

L turkey slices, 1 Tbls. Yogurt

D hamburger topped with spinach, onion, garlic, mushroom and boursin cheese mixture.

Have a great day everyone

Good morning. I had a fun weekend. My wife went to Door County Wisconsin with her friend, so I got a chance to prove I can actually take care of my furry children. We had a fun time. Except the moment I came back from the gym on Saturday.

Bad girl! This is the second pair of my wife's readers destroyed. Funny plenty of other things to destroy, but just her readers. I told my wife that she was mad she left her with mean Dad for the weekend. Here's the picture from when I walked in the house. She just looks guilty, doesn't she.

I decided to see a couple of movies this weekend that my wife would never want to see. Shape of Water and Blank Panther. I loved Black Panther and thought the acting and cinematography in Shape of Water was incredible. Didn't care for the script much though. But I knew it was a take off of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, so my expectations was low on that front - and it delivered on that expectation ;) I wasn't going to get any popcorn, but the guy at the door said congratulations your points card is giving you a free small popcorn today. I was like - its divine intervention! Ha, so I ate about half of a small plain bag the one day. They asked me if I wanted to upgrade it from a small to another size for 50 cents. I just laughed. I am back on CAMAW, but not due to the popcorn. Had planned to be a little more relaxed on Sunday and then go another week beforehand.

I sleep great after surgery, much better than before, but I attribute it to my sleep routine and exercise program. Routine - I go up and put on music and burn a lavender candle for 45 minutes to an hour - sometimes I read for 30 minutes, if time allows. I then put on my ceiling fan, take 3mg melatonin and incline the head and foot of my Cloud Tempurpedic bed a couple of degrees. I still have my CPAP, though the doctor thinks he'll discontinue it at my next check in a few weeks. I do put some lavender oil and grapefruit oil on a cotton ball by the air intake vent (to get a little additional aroma therapy - I kill the candle before going to bed). Then I get into bed - I'm asleep in minutes. And I mean in minutes every single night, not once in a while. I only have difficultly sleeping if I'm traveling and the environment shifts dramatically.

B - two scrambled eggs in PAM, tbs salsa, 3 turkey bacon

S - Fage, tbs peanut butter protein powder, .5 oz mixed nuts and seeds

L - 3.5 oz Thai chicken from this weekend and small salad

S - 1/2 scoop protein powder shake (if I do a full scoop during CAMAW I go too high for the day)

D - small salad and Turkey with tbs bbq sauce

S - 2 SF popsicles

Edit - I just saw a few people posting replies from Friday - thank you very much for the encouragement. It's been a fun journey and they asked about my wife. She's doing great, though like many she still struggles with her 25 pounds she'd like to lose.
