I'm so sorry you're going through these migraines, Daisy. I used to suffer from them, and I have to say it's one of the best things that going through menopause helps with. I hope that when you get there it takes them away from you too.

QOTD: OMG... I'm an only child. I've always talked to myself. Now it's almost comical how much I do it. I do have a bad habit though of talking to myself about stupid people in public... I really need to watch that. I call people out all of the time under my breath, and sometimes my breath is pretty strong!

My dogs and I talk all of the time... I mean full on conversations with them! Just this morning our new baby girl Cam (she's deaf mind you) came in the bathroom and I started up some silly song and I turned to her and I said "Sing it with me Cam"... and exactly at that moment she let out this long wine that sounded just like she was singing... I laughed so hard and my husband did as well. I swear she heard me singing (she hears some really high pitched noises, she wasn't born deaf we don't think)

Accountability: I AM ROCKING CAMAW this week!!! So happy with myself! Two days in a row that I've skipped a snack I brought with me and have been recording EVERYTHING in MFP. The scale is really cooperating with me as well, but no numbers until the end. Boy have I needed this, and my eyes have really opened to how much I eat between meals when I don't really need it. Thank you, Liz for coordinating this!

Total calories yesterday... 868

First thing... 32 ounces of decaf with 2T of half and half and SF syrup + 24 ounces of water with Miralax

B: 3 ounces of grilled pork chop

S: 3 ounces of boiled shrimp

L: 3 ounces burger, .5 ounces of cheddar

D: There's a ton of leftovers, and I"ll be working late, so it'll be something already made. (Thinking chicken breast and a fried egg on top)

S: Caraf of decaf with 4T of half and half and SF syrup (This has been my lifesaver, and I got out of the habit of making it lately at night... I really need to remember a girl needs her coffee at night instead of crap!)

I find a hot drink at night really helps. I have gone through phases but have added decaf coffee to my repertoire.

A few I do... Chocolate Premier protein heated as hot chocolate. Sometimes add extra milk and SF peppermint syrup

Chocolate chai latte. 1cup cashew milk, 1 cup strong decaf chai tea, 1tbsp cocoa powder, vanilla extract, sweetener. I mix in a quart mason jar with a stick blender and heat in microwave

Golden tumeric milk- 2 cups cashew milk, or cashew milk and water. ½ tsp tumeric, shy ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice, dash cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Again blend with stick blender and microwave.

I like cashew milk because it's low calorie-25calories a cup. Low carb, Plus it's a little thicker consistency so has a better mouth feel.

I forgot about putting eggs on things. Yum.

Your chocolate premier protein as a hot chocolate is genius.....I have made my version of ice cream with protein shakes, but never thought of doing this. I am trying this one....Tonight!

Mornin' All!

so sorry about the migraines, Daisy. I used to get them (although not too often - and they weren't horrible like some people's), but fortunately they pretty much disappeared after I went through menopause. Hopefully that will happen to you as well. They're awful!

my weight is still way up after a few days of restaurant and unpredictable eating. Today is my official "weigh day" (I weigh myself every day, but I record it on Wednesdays), and I"m up three lbs since last week. Mostly water, I'm sure - but I hate this. I'll be slamming a lot of fluids today to try to get rid of this. I feel like a bloated mess!

QOTD: I talk to myself a lot - when I'm alone, and to my cats. DH is the only person I know who doesn't talk to pets - or are there others out there? He insists they don't understand - which of course they don't - but I think it's just human nature to talk to other live beings, isn't it? I think he's weird...

accountability was better yesterday, but not great (almost 1700 kcal - I've been aiming for 1500 the last couple of months). I had a sandwich at the day-long workshop I was at. It was turkey & cheese and aioli, which is fine, but the bread was not. But I ate it anyway. I almost never eat bread. I did skip the chips and fruit and dessert, but... That sandwich filled me up until dinner time, though - but still, it was around 500 kcal. Put me over for the day. Should have skipped the damn bread. Or at least one of the slices. I'll be better today - I need to get these couple of pounds off!!

D: Korean steak taco

Here's to a great day! Because yesterday was just too weird for me. I had an odd feeling the day was going to be strange when the lady jumped in my swim lane and took over. I guess I just attracted negative energy after that. Thankfully the day ended well, with a consultant I love returning from personal leave. She walked up to my desk at 4:30 and I almost jumped up and hugged her. She's the best consultant/contractor I've ever worked with in over 23 years at this company. However, accountability was okay (didn't eat carbs) but also stunk (based on my goal for the day). I just wanted to graze last night, so I ended up eating a handful of pistachios, 3 extra SF Popsicles and a handful of epic pork skins. Added about 250 extra calories I didn't plan. But could have been worse as I really stayed away from the carbs. Thankfully things on the weight front are going well. I'm down 1.4 pounds since Sunday. That's a great sign as I'm typically up mid-week. I figure I'm drinking more liquids during the week than while I'm running around on the weekends. That means I'm my lowest on Sunday and typically peak on Wednesday. I seem to always be that way. Up 1 to 2 mid-week, but then even or down by the next Sunday. So I'm still planning on 4 or more for the week.

QOTD - I talk to myself like I have an invisible friend next to me (I would only be nervous, if I gave him a name). My wife makes fun of me all the time. I just have a running commentary almost all the time. I get lots of looks. So hell yeah I talk to myself. For example, I get my hard boiled eggs every morning at work. Here's today's self talk "Well I see the big sausage test failed and we are back to the tiny maple ones, too bad I liked that test sausage." The lady next to me just looked at me like - are you talking to me. I wasn't. Then I asked the manager - hey what happened to the test sausage? Oh 95% of the people couldn't deal with the change, so we just gave up and went back to the standard sausages we served before. Too bad because they were really good. I only mention that example since I commented on those sausages yesterday.

B - 2 hard boiled eggs (half of the yolk from one); trying out the new Cookies and Cream Premier RTD today. Oh I eat HB eggs at work because they use oil in everything at this company. They make custom omelettes on Thursday. I watch the guy pour 2 - 2 ounce ladles of oil into the pan. 4 oz is 8 tablespoons - yes 960 calories of oil. So I figure that my eggwhite Omlette with mushrooms and ham came in at 150 for core ingredients and at least 800 calories of oil. Gee - doesn't that sound at or over for my rough calorie target for the day. It's very sad. Oh and I asked how big the ladle was and the guy looks and it had a 2 engraved in it. No they don't offer Pam spray. So that's why I get the HB eggs - cheaper too. $1 for 2 HB and $2 for same 2 eggs scrambled in oil. Interesting huh? Oh when I talk to the manager about things that seem odd to me - she say's oh yes we use a lot of oil, but it's healthy olive oil. I just said to her - 800 calories of oil is something that no one needs unless you are running marathons. They also deep fry all the breakfast meats - (yes my head is shaking even now).

S - 5.5 ounces Fage, 0.5 oz nuts

L - Turkey meatloaf with a small salad

S - 1 ounce cheese and turkey stick I accidentally bought from Netrition. Apparently I put it in my box after reading an article on these and forgot it was there when I ordered last week. I got that and some Pili nuts - whatever those are - didn't taste that great when I sampled it with my pistachios last night.

D - Last of the Brisket from Costco and small salad

S - try for just 2 SF popsicles

Oh migraines, my arch enemy! I am sorry you suffer from them as well.

QOTD: The only time I find myself talking to myself is when I am muttering ....WTF and shaking my head! HAHAHA Mostly about my co-workers

2 years 11 months since surgery

I have been doing really well staying away from the carb monster, so I am sticking with my shakes at work and dinner at home. Last night I had eggs with cheese and butter. Tonight may be the same. I do love me some eggs!

Drinking my water, vitamins started. Waiting on this stupid snow to start ....ugh
