Me and my bowel issues again
I did not have a BM until 6 days post op. It was actually watery. Took half dose of Mira Lax everyday.
Thank you. I'm taking both the restoralax and the prescribed stool softener and nada. But good to know that yours took a while too.

Laxatives are right there at the top of the list of things to have on hand, especially the more you get to eating dense protein. I have quite the variety... senna, docusate sodium, MoM, Miralax. A laxative for every occasion. And constipation is a thing not to mess with. I always take action if it has been three days. My new reality ;)
The discharge hand out I got had me start on Senokot w/ stool softener 2x per day, in after 3 days that didn't work, then try Milk of Magnesia, if that still doesn't work, glycerin suppositories (sorry).
Luckily for me I'm actually going (took 3 days) and yes you should still have stool even if you're only on liquids.

Funny there's nothing on mine that says anything about what if the soflax doesn't work. No next steps. Milk of magnesia it is.
