Disaster Rations Continued

With all of Ireland closed and our hotel covered in a meter of snow, the hotel provided a soup and sandwich line. Not only do I not know what any of this food is, but I am pretty sure it is all high carb. I had a protein bar for breakfast, but with only one left, I want to save it until tomorrow. After the hurricane, my surgeon said if all there is is pizza, you don't eat. Sigh. Tea, anyone? I mean it looks good, but...

Can you eat the soup and scoop out the protein from the wrap?

I had the soup and have been picking at the meat. Turns out the meat is canned. So, high sodium, high fat, protein boiled out.

for low carb-ers, high sodium is great. I have to add salt to my keto diet.

Higher fat the skin gets some fat. Great, bonus in my world.

your surgeon is wrong.

If you are in a disaster situation , you eat the food that is provided , and be greatful for it.

Mad fat as pizza, you can certainly eat the cheese and toppings and leave the crust.

Ou can also eat the insides of any sandwich and leave the bread.

I ate the toppings off pizza at my first meal out at 8 weeks post-op. I also eat canned meat pretty regularly and get 55% of my calories from fat. I got to goal in 5 1/2 months. Just eat the meat.

Could be worse. You could be rationing food without the assistance of RNY.
