March is coming in like a lion here - high wind watch up for tomorrow - after a week of rain hope we don't lose a lot of trees. UGH!

Accountability: Still not perfect but getting better every day.

QOTD: I have a scar on my wrist that looks like I might have tried to slit my wrist. When I was about 8-10 I was leaning on the glass storm door and my arm went straight through. That was before the days of safety glass. Mom just cleaned it up and taped it together, but I still have the scar almost 50 years later. I was a tough farm kid back in the day.

B: decaf coffee w/chocolate protein powder - somehow I've become a mocha fan - never cared for it much before.

L: 3 oz. baked ham, cheese stick

D: Porkchop

E: Day off today - to many meetings and other commitments

Surgery Date June 3, 2016

HW: 329 W at first consult 290. SW 238, LW 128, CW 139

Good morning! I never made it to the gym last night but I did have a great night with my girls. After my 7 yr old annihilated me at UNO (revenge for the last game we played where I hammered her with 20 cards before going out in a few moves), I crashed on the couch, and had a coffee. I was dressed to go to the gym, but I fell asleep and didn't budge.

B: protein bar, and another apple. Let's just say that the fibre experiment worked, and I didn't need the laxatives (which I don't REALLY want to depend on).

MS: 1/2 cup ff greek with 1/2 cup chopped pineapple (the kid ate the strawberries while having a bath, unbeknownst to Dad)

AS: Same as MS

L: protein shake

S: UNknown but plan forward

QOTD: I've got so many scars from being a rough-and-tumble farm kid in the 70's and 80's I don't know where to begin. So many wipe-outs, so little time. There's the scar on my foot from jumping from the hay loft, crashing through the old barn floor and landing in the pigpen below, but it was a construction zone at the time and an 8" spike from the barn beams went through my foot, sticking up like it was meant to be there. That was a beauty. Then there's the scars from a burn from an electric fence that I got stuck on while playing tag, the leg scar from going over the handlebars of my bike and down a ravine into a lake while biking with friends, the puncture scars from falling through a skylight while roofing a house (and landing my ribs on a bag of nails)....but I think the one that I "cherish" the most is from swimming in the lake, and a wave pushed me back into the metal breakwater piling, and I smacked my head on the corner of the steel. The scar resembles a mole, and sticks up just a tad. I didn't want to leave the beach but we had to go to emerge on that one. No permanent drain bamage. LOL

Reading that incomplete list, I now realize that I should have been dead by now. Haha

Happy First Day of March Daisy and Menu Family! I hope this means that Spring is on the way!

QOTD: I have lots of weird scars, (working for 17 years with glass & razor blades at a picture framing shop), plus many surgeries. But the biggest scar is one on my left knee. I fell on my left knee but didn't go to the doctor. Apparently I cracked the knee cap and a month later it snapped into two pieces! They did surgery and wired it back together, but it wouldn't join. They did another surgery and tried again, but still no luck. Then the incision got infected. Finally they did a 3rd surgery and just removed the bottom half of the knee cap. So after being cut open 3 times, the scar is long and wide.

Accountability: Yesterday: I ate at my friend's house for lunch yesterday and she made (gasp) chocolate fudge and I had two pieces. So my calories and carbs are high today. Protein - 70, Calories - 1,350, Carbs - 153. Today's a new day!

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: ham & cheese sandwich on 45 calorie bread

D: hamburger patty

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups

E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Mornin'!

Working from home today because some guy is coming by to (hopefully) fix our garage door opener (or maybe just replace it - depends on what's wrong). He won't be here until this afternoon, but he wanted us to leave a side door unlocked if we went anywhere, and between the broken garage door and having to leave a side door unlocked, I was a little afraid of being robbed. So I'll just stay right here...

accountability - went 100 kcal over my average. It was that going out to lunch thing. Went to Aqua Zumba last night though, which probably helped (it was pretty intense...).

QOTD: I have a 1" scar on my forearm that I've had since I was about 4 years old, but I can't remember exactly how I got it. I vaguely remember a bottle cap or a pop top, but I'm not sure if that was the issue or not. I also have one under my lower lip that always drove me nuts, but I doubt anyone else notices it. It was from a skating accident when I was 10 years old. One of my teeth went through my lip.

2 years 8 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1 T Crio Bru grounds, 2 sliced strawberries

MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax shake

L: 1 C chili

AS: I have a committee meeting later on this afternoon, so I may get another coffee (with half & half) there

D: my brother's arriving today, so not sure - we'll go out somewhere. I'll get something bariatric-friendly for sure!

broken springs are the worst - we have about a 400 lb door, and the springs broke a couple of times years ago. The thing was a bear to get up manually! Then we called another company (same one that came today), and they weighed the door and said we needed much stronger springs, so they special ordered them for us. We've had the same springs for about 20 years now, so they were spot on! But yea - that huge bang sound is jarring!

this turned out to be the logic board. He said he'd be glad to replace the whole opener, but to be honest (he said), the logic board is really the only major part in there, so if that part was replaced, we could get another eight years or so out of the opener, so that's what we did. Works like a champ now. YAY!

Morning RNY'ers.

So I'm using the month of March to try and whip some things into shape. 1) I'm going to make an effort to post 2X's during the work week. (I always weekend post, but work weeks are hectic). 2) Speaking to accountability- I'm using this month to break a bad habit I've developed of eating dry cereal, and eating biscuits/rolls. I hadn't categorized those two things in my plan, so they were out of hand in terms of consumption. This morning was tough because the first thing i traditionally did walking into the kitchen was grab the cereal container. 3) Lose 6#. Figures that as soon as I commit to maintenance, the # I decide I can live with become and elusive *****

I took measurements this morning, haven't done so in a while and my hips shows +2". Interesting- I'm still figuring how I feel about that. Waist, bust etc is the same as it has been. Hmmph.

QOTD: No odd scars really. I have a small one on my left hand/eyebrow from chicken pox, then the scar for my thyroidectomy.

210 today, 2.10 years out

M1: 1 egg/egg white; 4 turkey sausage links,

M2: Banana, greek yogurt/berries

M3: 4.2oz bourbon chicken chunks, salad

M4: TBD

Good morning Daisy and menu folks! It's a rainy and windy day today and tomorrow after two very nice days. I'm not sure whether I will go outside for a walk or not but I hate to feel trapped in the house. Yesterday I took two walks, one was 1.7 miles and the other was about a mile. I checked in with my surgeon to see if I was doing too much and he said that as long as I wasn't having pain or bleeding that I could walk as much as I want. I am still trying to keep them relatively short so I don't hurt myself but it is improving every day.

QOTD: I have an inch long scar on my belly from crawling over a rusty barbwire fence...ugh. I have another scar on my back from slipping in the bathtub when I was small and getting cut by my Mom's razor. I also have a scar on my left index finger from cutting through my finger almost to the bone with heavy scissors. I was making pine baskets and trying to clip the lengths close. I cut through the length and into my finger severing the blood vessel. Lost lots of blood with that one and needed to have the vessel stitched back together.

Menu:

Breakfast: I had leftover shrimp

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, cantaloupe

Lunch: TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots

Snack: turkey breast, apple

Dinner: roast beef, cauliflower

Exercise: 2 short walks in the neighborhood
