What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?

Hi everyone, how are you all today? I am good. What's new and exciting? My co worker who covers me when I am on vacation just handed in her resignation yesterday. I have mixed feelings as I spent so long training her (she was a slow learner) and I felt like she was really "getting it" now and now she is leaving. I hate training new people!

Accountability: spot on, no extra BLTs (Bites, Licks & Tastes!)

QOTD: Have you ever won a medal or trophy or prize? In grade 8 I wrote a poem for a poetry contest and it won first prize. I was painfully shy back then and the "prize" was a $10 gift certificate to the local record store and lunch out with the Principal of the school and the head of the English department. It was HORRID. I sat and stared at my plate while the two adults talked. Its up there with the top 5 worst days of my life.

Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 2 months

B: boat loads of decaf coffee with vanilla PP used as creamer then 2 jalapeno laughing cow wedges and 10 mini carrots

L: can of tuna with balsamic dressing and a tsp of bran buds

S: 2oz of pumpkin seeds

D: 3 slices of bacon and an egg white omelette sprinkled with cheese

S: nothing

TOTALS: 1008 calories, 103 protein, 40 carbs

V: patches are on + extra oral dry D3 + extra B12

E: 5km run at the gym and leg work then 5km hike with the dogs

So not sure if a lot of you know but I am not a "hungry in the mornings" kind of person. I get up at 4:45am and drink decaf coffee from 5:30am to about noon or 1pm. I am trying something new and I am eating at about 7:30 to see if it will help with my night time snacking/cravings by having food earlier in the day. And so far it seems to be working. I just started this on Monday and I was not hungry in the evenings at all. Is it psychosomatic or is eating earlier really working for me? I will keep this up and report back in a week if anything changes at all. Just an FYI for you all.

Have a great day everyone, last day of February, we are that much closer to Spring & Summer

Morning everyone! Sorry about your coworker leaving. I am likely facing a lot of resignations soon, too. Yesterday, we had a big day of interviews for 3 open positions that we know of already, and I expect more to come.

Accountability: I don't think I ate a damn thing that I planned to--I already switched up the menu I wrote up by the time I left the house, and then switched it again mid-day. But it was all good choices. Today I have back to back to back to back meetings, so I have no idea how or when I will actually eat anything I bring--that's why I am starting off with Starbucks which I will grab on my way in!

QOTD: I won a "best teacher" award about 20 years ago, and the same year I won a "best inclusion classroom" award.

Good morning Daisy and menu crew. Quick post for me today as I am travleing to Montreal this morning and then will heading to YOUR province Daisy - Heading to visit a company in Hawkesbury, Ont.

Ryleys team won the Sectional Championship last night, they host a regional Game on Saturday vs a Team from Buffalo, Ny, if they win they will go to the State Final four next week in Buffalo. Was a very exciting game!

QOTD - I have won team trophies and mvp trophies for hockey, but my favorite was winning a snow sculpture contest during the winter carnival when I was 14 years old. I made a sculpture of Snoopy lying on top of his doghouse! I am going to have to see if I can find an old picture, great memory!

Menu is wide open for lunch today as the company I am visiting in Ont is having lunch brought in.

Great idea to change things up Daisy to see if that works for you!

I am off to hit the road, have a great day everyone.

Stay healthy my friends, Mike

Mornin' Everyone!

I was pleasantly reminded that I have lunch scheduled with a friend today. I'd completely forgotten about it! Looking forward to it. Should be a fairly low-key day. Hitting the pool tonight. My brother arrives tomorrow - fun weekend ahead with bro!

accountability was great yesterday. Made a switch (had yogurt and a piece of crustless protein pumpkin pie for dinner - my stomach was acting up yesterday and I didn't think it could handle "dinner food"), but I still came in at 1400 kcal (my average is 1500/day).

I have my appt to get Reclast (an IV-delivered osteoporosis drug) on Monday. It was originally scheduled for Friday, but some people have bone/joint pain and "flu-llke symptoms" for a couple of days after the infusion. Didn't want to deal with that while bro was here. I was really nervous about this drug after reading horror stories online, although my PCP, and a retired doctor friend of mine, both assured me that other than the "flu-like symptoms", the rest of those side effects are very rare. I suppose it's like WLS - horror cases are very rare, but because people broadcast those and not "I had WLS and I had no side effects!", they seem much more widespread than they actually are. Anyway, hoping this will all go off without a hitch.

QOTD: my cats have won more prizes than I have! I've won a couple of drawings, but I'm having a hard time remembering any actual prizes. Obviously, if I have, they weren't very significant!

2 years 8 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1 T Crio Bru grounds, 2 sliced strawberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake

L: we'll be at a Mexican place, so the usual - either two tacos or a fajita (meat & veggies only)

AS: probably won't need one after that lunch, but if so, either L&F yogurt or 2 T peanut butter on celery sticks

D: chili

ex: Aqua Zumba

I've had 5 Reclast infusions and have had no side effects. Its a quick infusion , it only takes about 20 - 30 minutes. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

thanks for saying that. I've been nervous about this even though I know most people react just fine to it. Hopefully I'll be one of them!!

Sashimi sounds so good! Haven't had it in a long time. I'm gonna have to add that to my menu this week.
