Thank you Didi,

thank you so much for your help I can not have the gastric sleeve because I have gastroparesis so the roux-en-y is my only other alternative besides just living without the lap band. I have MS plus having a stroke at age 3 so I don't want to be big trying to pull myself from the couch to my wheelchair.

my mother had the roux-en-y but if I have any questions about the revision I will ask.

thank you,

Melissa M

Hi there!

I had a lapband (surgery was 2006) and had to have it removed because it caused severe acid reflux. I revied to bypass in December and so far so good. I am still on the learning curve (can't say that I love it yet because I am still learning) but I have lost over 35 pounds, I am never hungry, I feel okay (just tired all of the time), I'm off all medications and I just had my two-month labs done and everything was perfect. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. I will help you the best that I can.

Sorry I've been off for so long but I've been very sick due to gastroparasis; how are you doing now with the bypass? My surgery is scheduled for July 25th

Hi Melissa,

I am doing really well with my rny. I am down about 70 pounds and living my life complication free. I feel good. We just came home from vacation and I didn't gain an ounce and we walked and walked and walked. It was so fun. Hope everything goes well with your surgery on the 25th. Let me know if you have any questions and I will help you the best I can.
