Travel NSVs

Saturday began my trip and I have just been ticking off NSVs almost hourly. The first one was not only fitting into my airplane seat, but having over a foot of seat belt slack?! I bought off the rack clothing in a foreign dress shop!

But the most amazing NSV was dinner tonight. I ordered the fish and was brought an actual serving size of about 4 ounces, a 1/2 cup of mushy peas, and an American sized portion of a hasselback potato. Of course, I couldn't eat all that, but when the waiter came to clear the plate, he apologized for the huge sizes of the portions! No comments about why didn't I eat the food. What a relief! I did still manage to eat about 200 more calories than I should have, but I will not eat the bread tomorrow. I had one slice and that was enough for the trip.

The only real challenge is that this country does not seem to have artificial sweeteners. I even went to a few grocery stores and the only one they had was Splenda which is universally loathed by the shop keepers. (I hate it, too.) Black coffee and tea it is...

Yippee. I told you about portions!!

Try stevia (truvia) at the grocery store. They are not in powder form packets but like a little pill box.

Enjoy your trip.
