What's is on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
I've hit my OMG not that weight so I'm back here to get back on track. I know - I should just stick here all the time. I usually do read, but don't often post. I'll try to be more consistent with the posts.

A quote from one of my favorite country songs...." I've been there, that's why I'm here". Welcome back! Great resource.

Good morning! The weekend was OK, but entirely too short. By a month, as near as I can figure, LOL. I can't wait for March break, where I have 3 days off to take my family to a waterpark. Need the breather, sigh....The weekend was good, food-wise, though I had a few indiscretions. Still down below goal and falling, but a couple of choices could have been better yesterday. Danged post-church pot-lucks. LOL, Usually I ignore the stuff I need to ignore. I didn't destroy myself or feel sick, just had a couple of off-plan things.
I made it to the gym last night with my wife. She's just easing into it so she took it a bit lighter, but I've been cycling/walking so much I went for the elliptical for a half hour and then some weights. I really missed it, and the immense sadness I've felt surrounding the loss of my old workout buddy were replaced with fond memories as I looked around. We had so many great conversations there. I'm still sad, but I could almost feel his presence if that makes sense. I thought about that a lot on my walk in this morning.
Menu is good today. Breakfast was a protein bar, and my coffee. I might dunk a Kirkland granola bar in it; I don't usually eat that sort of thing, but sometimes that little bit of sweet is a nice treat without breaking the bank.
MS: 1/2 cup ff greek with some berries. AS: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with chopped up dill pickles
L: sandwich bag with a few veggies in it, 1.5 oz ff cucumber dressing, and 2 cheese strings. Probably won't get through that but it's leftover from yesterday, grabbed it quick.
S: Unknown but on plan
Heading to the gym after I teach drums tonight. I want to keep the momentum going.
QOTD: I'd like to say string bean, but who am I kidding. My kids would say "turnip" because...well....gas. I think I'll go with spinach though.
:)
The good memories of someone lost can be such a comfort in the long run (and put a smile on one's face).

Good morning Daisy and all, I am forcing myself to get a later start this morning. I am generally feeling well but I keep reminding myself that I'm not even 2 weeks post-op and that I need to take it easy.
For those of you who may not have read the weekend menu posts, on Friday afternoon, I got the final results from my pathology report. All of the tissues and samples that were taken were benign. That is usually the case for fibroids, but it is a great relief to know the final results. Also the total weight of the tissue that they removed was over 800 grams. I am having real trouble dealing with that for some reason, but I am deeply grateful that it is out now!
The weather is not supposed to be rainy today so I plan to go for an outside walk. I will stick to my neighborhood so I'm not too far from home, but I'm excited about getting out and moving.
QOTD: Daisy, I love your idea of being an eggplant. I certainly have eggplant days, especially after I've eaten too much and feel bloated. In my case, if you are what you eat, I am certainly at least part carrot! I love to crunch on baby carrots and even add extra carrots to my broccoli slaw.
Menu: Still a little off my oats, but continuing to improve. Lots of extra protein and fluids.
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, ham, 1 falafel ball
Snack: Fuzzy navel protein shake, apple, almonds
Lunch: chicken breast, broccoli slaw
Snack: protein shake, cantaloupe, cashews
Dinner: pork chop, cauliflower, blueberries
Quest protein bar

My trainer has recommended using cinnamon on a daily basis, I am thinking I will add that as well.
