Good Morning. Quick posts from me for the next few days. Working out of another office in the Bay area and it's probably going to be very busy and stressful. Our weekend was pretty laid back but we did go to a hockey game (local junior league) on Saturday night and then yesterday was church, packing for travel and then driving in the late afternoon.

QOTD: I had been thinking about if for awhile (maybe 2 years) and finally talked to my PCP after a vacation that resulted in me not being able to ride a roller coaster with my then 9 year old daughter. I was pretty open about talking about it but didn't post anything on social media to much prior...I didn't want to hear all the stories of "my friends sisters cousins mother had it and ......".

Menu is a bit up in the air but here is what I know:

B: latte and 2 boiled eggs

L: Tuna pack, carrots with some cheese dip (can't remember what it's called but I picked it up at Target)

S: Latte with almond milk, yogurt and Mr Cheese O's

D:TBD

ES: Yogurt with fiber cereal

E: I ran and did elliptical this morning in the hotel fitness room

W/V are on track.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I shared my decision to have bariatric surgery with literally no one except a close friend who visited me in the hospital every day and took me home.

Incidentally he has recently ? broken up? with me ... I suspect mostly because of jealousy - we were eating /buffet buddies and he?s still a hundred lbs overweight and suffering serious health consequences.

breakfast - broiled shrimp in low-fat peanut garlic scallion ginger sauce

three small baked potatoes skin removed mashed with skim milk and butter buds

chai tea skim lattes ( 3)

lunch- maybe reheated homemade fat free mozzarella and fat free ricotta lasagna;

green beans with onion topping and mushroom sauce ( butter buds added ) from Aldi?s .. yep im thoroughly addicted to this healthy low-fat tasty vegetable dish;

snack- 1/2 lb ceviche shrimp and scallops with horseradish ****tail sauce.

dinner- red wine spritzers

some kind of frozen homemade dinner = meatloaf or scallops or fat free creamy monkfish /potato /clam chowder

Howdy !!

QOTD: Well I have had three surgeries, so by the time I got to number three, I didn't really want to tell anyone about it for fear of being judged. My older sister is of the belief that I have autoimmune problems due to the surgeries I have had. She could be right but being obese and dying young of heart disease or some other obesity related disease is worse in my opinion. Plus at least one of my surgical options failed me. When the lapband worked, it was an awesome thing. I felt I was in control of my food portions for the first time in my life. The only people who knew of my surgery this time was my baby sister, mom and husband. Didn't tell anyone else until after.

Food for the day:

Dinner: Chicken and veggies (probably endive salad with goat cheese and two tb of beets)

Jumping in to post now- I'll read later!

Accountability: I just had a slice of bread with butter at lunch :(

QOTD: I told pretty much everyone, it was just easier to be transparent for me, I was starting a new job 3 weeks post surgery, in a new city and I would need to go back for doctor visits etc... just seemed easier if everyone was on the same page. Now, 11 months out, if my diet or exercise comes up in conversations I just lead with "I had bariatric surgery last March".

11 months post RNY/138lbs/Weight loss stage

MS- No sugar added hot cocoa

L- Roasted chicken salad (mixed greens, goat cheese) plus a slice of warm bread and butter

AS - Smoked Almonds
