Good Morning protein powered peeps!

Happy President's Day!
How was everyone's weekend? My church was having a Valentine Luncheon after services yesterday with everyone bring a dish to pass. So I spent all weekend making 103 mini Creme Puffs. The great thing about making so many is you have no desire to eat one when your finished. They were a hit at the luncheon and I had them keep the leftovers for their youth group in the evening for a treat.
Accountability: I had a cup of hot cocoa yesterday afternoon for a treat.

QOTD: When you made the decision to have WLS, did you share your decision with family or friends? What went into that decision? When I made the decision to have WLS, I made the personal decision to not tell my family or friends about the surgery. I was unsure whether my family would be supportive of my decision and knew my friends would give me the "your taking the easy way out" lecture. I did not want to deal with the negativity. So now when I am asked how I lost the weight, I just say that I am on a high protein, low carb regimen and leave it at that. The only person other than my doctors that knows about my surgery is my DH. My DH completely understands my decision to keep it to myself. We all know that the surgery is only a tool, but it is hard to get others to understand the work it takes to use our new tool. Just from comments I have heard regarding other people that have had WLS, I am glad for my decision.

Good Morning Charlie and Menu Family!

I had a great weekend! I got to go horseback riding again. I got to ride my favorite horse, Sugar, and feed her some treats after we were done riding. It was 55 degrees so even though it was windy, it was pretty nice out. Here's a picture of me with Sugar.

QOTD: I told my family and friends that I had WLS and I still tell people if they ask me how I lost all the weight.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 73, Calories - 1,110, Carbs - 140.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: hamburger

D: chicken enchilada suiza

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups

E: Exercise bike. (Supposed to be really cold out today)

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!

~ Karen

Good morning. My cat woke me up by jumping square on my incisions this morning. I had placed a pillow over for just this reason, but the pillow had slipped in the night. The sudden pressure was enough to make me dry-heave for a few minutes. I don't think she did any serious damage besides the instant shoot of pain (it's subsided and I feel normally now), but I'm going to keep an eye on any unusual pain and I'll tell the doc at my follow up.

qotd: my family is pretty close and supportive so I wasn't shy about telling them. My mom had WLS in the past and a cousin of mine and DH just had RNY last year, so it wasn't the most shocking news. I am good friends with many of my coworkers as well so I've been open about it. Sure I've had a few,"have you tried just eating salads?" To which I just stopped talking to those people, but overall the response has been supportive.

Menu: liquids, still. I'm getting better at getting all my water in, so now I'm focusing on protein. I bought some Isotech42 drinks from The Vitamin Shoppe--42g of protein in each drink. The flavors are rather strong for me at the moment so I have to dilute them with about half water
