What's on our Menu Today (Thursday) RNYers?
Hi Karen. Is it vertigo or dizziness? I'm asking because my husband suffers from vertigo, it all depends on how he sleeps (his neck position) and when it happens there are certain positions/exercises he does to get rid of them. They are sure debilitating. Hope you get better soon.

Hi Sheila,
I don't know. I thought vertigo and dizziness were the same thing. The doctor said it's vertigo. She said it is caused by tiny crystals in the inner ear that get lodged in the wrong place, which causes my balance to feel off. She sent me over to Physical Therapy where the physical therapist tried to dislodge the crystals in my inner ears by lying me down suddenly with my head to one side and rolling me from side to side. Then he put pulsing pads hooked up to a machine on my neck for about 10 minutes and heat on my neck. Then he gave me a neck massage (which felt wonderful!). I am to go back for more treatments tomorrow. He said it could take up to two weeks for the dizziness to go away. Both the physical therapist and the doctor didn't think my double vision is at all related to the vertigo. So now I need to get back in to see the eye doctor, too, since I still have double vision, too.
Thank you for your input & concern, Sheila and everyone else who wrote!

True...my husband also gets it because of his inner ear (surfer ear) issues.
TWO weeks of vertigo? Holy moly. That exercise of laying down and rotating the neck, I have seen my husband doing it. Sometimes I have to help him with the rotation of the neck. But the longest I have seen him suffer is 1-2 days.
Sending healthy vibes your way.

Good morning peeps!
Accountability: on track yesterday. Down another .2...yea!
qotd: I agree with all the tips thus far. Listen to your body. About 3 weeks after my surgery, I was feeling lightheaded most of the time and if I bent down it was even worse. I called the doctor and it was determined I needed to get off my bp med's because my blood pressure was back to normal. So, pay class se attention to what your body is telling you and don't be afraid to call your doctor...that is why they are there. Take advantage of the veterans here because they are so help...there are no stupid questions. Research back posts on here also...a lot of good info.
Menu tbd, but all about the protein.
