CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LOSS!!!

The best option I know of is simply to eat plenty of protein. For supplements, my preference is Whey Isolate, I like to use the plain stuff from grass fed cows but lately I've been using mostly the flavored, sweetened Elevation brand I can get at my local Aldi store.

You don't necessarily have to go out of your way to supplement. Eat mainly protein-focused and lift heavy things often. As your muscles repair the micro-tears lifting heavy weights generate, they will glom on to the extra protein and grow.

If you're looking to supplement, I'd say go for things that have whey protein isolate rather than concentrate. Isolate is more easily digested and you get more bang for your buck.

As Jen said, supplements don't build muscle, lifting heavy weights do. Getting enough animal protein is all you need, and supplements won't be necessary. Just follow a good lifting program.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Using the article's suggestion for ultimate protein, I should eat about 85 grams per day which I almost always achieve (good to know).

Very nice article, thanks. It's mostly well established, but the part on timing of protein intake is illuminating. There areca lot of myths about when to eat in relation to working out.

Congrats on your loss!

As many have said before me, you do not need supplements, increased protein and the right complex carbs ( energy) will benefit your energy level and improve muscle growth.

I just recently started a program and have been learning how to lift properly and how to concentrate workouts for gaining lean muscle mass.

The trainer i chose is a Female and she actually specializes in preparing females for the bikini figure competitions, speaking with her I let her know that I did NOT want to gain weight, I wanted to burn fat, and gain lean muscle. So far so good.

Best of Luck, let me know how you make out!

Someone has to say it -- you will look horrible in a bikini. At the very least, look into getting a wax.
