I had to post this in here because I'm probably more excited about it than I should be. LOL

2 Jalapenos, cored, 1/4 cup of chicken/bean chili on them with 1/4 cup left over, and 1 cheese string cut up on that. my office smells like a Chili's restaurant now and I love it.

Looks delish! Jalapeño popper experiments are my favorite when my garden is in full production :)

I'm a pepper guy, typically the super-hots but since RNY I've not experimented too much aside from a bit of hot sauces. I used to start several varieties from Scotch Bonnet upwards (including the scorpions and reapers) in my office, and transplant them to my home garden in the spring. Most couldn't be really eaten "raw" but do they make a nice hot sauce....aaaand I'm drooling.

The stupidly hot sauces don't seem to bother my pouch but I'm still a bit nervous about diving back into them, but I might do jalapenos and birds'eye this year.

Yeah I can't do anything more than habeneros "raw" and those need to be chopped up fairly small and mixed with other things, but I've been known to eat jalapeños right off the vine lol. I do make hot sauces, dry them to make pepper flakes, pepper jellies, and I make my own garden pest deterrent spray using hot peppers too

Such a versatile vegetable! I'll have to try the garden pest deterrent spray. I have a sonic noise thing that I'm convinced only gives them something to listen to while they invade. Growing up on the farm, I had a different deterrent for pests, but...um...."high speed lead poisoning" isn't permitted in the city for good reason. Cats are the biggest offenders, and tend to drive my wife nuts more than me, as she's the one that weeds the beds mostly.

A couple of years ago, I ate a Carolina Reaper off the plant because "I just had to know". Not intolerable, but I was in a bit of mouth pain for a half hour, and had a pepper high for a bit as the endorphin released. I was a sweaty mess for that half hour but it was still pretty awesome (in a scientific way). The system didn't really react (stomach aches etc.) but you know what they say, a good pepper will burn you twice. So I didn't do that again. They make great sauces though.

Lol there are a few stray cats around here but they don't bother my garden. I let my own cat out in the garden with me and she snacks on grasshoppers while I work (ew). But rabbits!! Everywhere!! They don't like the pepper spray. I mix a bit of dawn dish soap in the spray, and the bugs don't like that. I have to re-spray after rain, but it works ok.

I've made jalapeno jelly, yum. A friend tried making it and thought she'd her her food processor (or maybe it was her blender, I don't recall) to pulverize the peppers. A kitchen-filling cloud of airborne volatile oils was the result, forcing her to run outside, gasping, eyes tearing and stinging and throat burning! After that she decided to buy rather than make pepper jelly.

Lol!! Yeah I learned too to only blend hot peppers in a well-ventilated area! I've even run an extension cord outside and worked on the porch lol

Good morning, menu peeps! Ugh... I've already screwed today up by having a choc chip cookie for breakfast.. I don't know how it happened! By the time my logic kicked in, it was gone! The rest of today will be very strict. Hubby just left for the week again. I feel like he's alllllways gone now and I'm eating out of loneliness and boredom. Ahhh the struggle!!!

Accountability: boooo! Yesterday was a train wreck. Get it together, mandi! Get. It. Together.

Qotd: ohhhhh heck no!!! I love the ocean and its creatures, but I'm also terrified of deep water. Humans aren't meant to be in the ocean that far (at least that's how I feel haha) and if I can't see what's down there then it's a hard no for me. That being said, I do love swimming in the ocean as long as I can see the bottom and I do love going out fishing on boats when I can. I don't count boats because I'm not actually in the water, just floating above the surface hahaha.

b: .... stupid fudging cookie :-(

l: ground chicken taco salad

d: chicken sausage

s: Greek l&f

v: patches

e: working a long day so I might skip BUT I also need to work off this damn cookie. We'll see, I guess.

Hi everyone... I'm late to the game today, but really wanted to get back into the swing of things! I've been out of the office for the past two days with a pretty awful stomach bug! Major cramping and pain in my intestines, and lets just say that what went in found it's way out pretty quickly! Low grade fever to add to the fun, and the past two days have been awful. (I did go to the doc and was cleared of the flu though, that's a good thing)

Daisy, while I wouldn't wi**** on anyone, I am now cleared of the carb monster! I intend on adding foods back slowly, and determined to use this adventure to my advantage to stay on the right track again!

QOTD: I was once a pretty active diver... while I never swam with any sharks officially, I have encountered a couple while diving. It was nerve wracking, but so very cool at the same time! I'd definitely love to get up close and personal with either a shark or a sting ray. I've petted sting rays at the zoo, but not swam with them.

Accountability: Obviously very good considering today is the first day I've had anything solid stay with me since Sunday. I did make chicken soup out of some thighs and ate some of the meat, but not much, and it made me cramp up.

B: Protein shake and decaf coffee

L: 2 scrambled eggs, but I couldn't eat it all

S: Premier Protein shake (and possibly more coffee, although I don't want too much acid going through me just yet)

D: Not sure... the eggs seem to be sitting well, so I just might stick with them for a while.

S: I don't anticipate needing anything, but if I do, it will likely be eggs (they are liking me, we have about 8-10 dozen on the counter, and I might just stay with them for another day or so)
