What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning weekenders!
work has been a bit stressful, so I was in bed really early last night, which means I'm up hella early today!
Sitting by the fireplace, catching up on the posts I missed this week.
anypme have any plans for the weekend? It's cold here, but I'm hoping to check out winterlude (it's an outdoor winter festival here). And there's talk of a trip to ikea.
Qotd: let's talk kitchen gadgets!! What's your favourite? Or what are you planning to get next? I really don't consider myself too gadgety but I think I'm going to buy a spiralizer soon. Currently I have one that's not a spiralizer, but is handheld, like a veggie peeler. It slices in long tiny strips. But I want more hahahah I have a kitchen aid, and I'm thinking of getting the spiralizer attachment. Or does anyone have a recommendation?
Also this week,I pulled out my waffle iron. I never thought it would get much use post op, but I've made spaghetti squash waffles, and some with cauliflower rice. Fun to change things up on occasion.
accountability: good stat wise, but every time work gets crazy, I fall into a rut relying on protein shakes, bars and decaf coffee. Not good.
menu:
B: coffee and premier
L/D: at least one, maybe both will be out and about, so I'm not sure, but protein forward.
have a good one!

Weekends are harder for me, just because they don't seem to have the structure.
Goal today is to get in at least 2L of water.
QOTD: I LOVE kitchen gadgets. The popular one right now is a french fry slicer that i use to make fries in the actifry, They are so much better than the frozen ones. my family loves them. My Nutri Ninja gets daily use for my shakes but my ALL TIME FAV is not a gadget, but a small appliance, the Breville Tea maker! I am a tea fanatic and I love that I can brew a pot of whatever variety of tea I like and the machine knows just how long to steep it and at which heat.
Accountability: Grazed WAY TOO MUCH yesterday (and most of last week). Need to get back to Mindful Eating.
B- Chocolate/Peanut Butter protein with unsweetened almond milk.
S- cheesestring and strawberries
L- leftover chicken

Good Saturday morning. I am sitting in car service lounge so I have plenty of time to chat, lol. Yesterday I had another visit with surgeon. Said I am on track to have surgery in May. But I have vacation week of may 20th and I don't want to be too far away from the practice in case I need to see them for something, so if it isn't 1st part of may, it might get pushed to June. I had a serious meltdown for lunch yesterday and had fast food. But got back on track for dinner. The 1 flat tire and not wanting to flatten the other 3, like someone posted earlier this week. Sorry I don't know who to credit for that, but really struck a chord with me.
QOTD: I love my coffee maker. I don't use it for coffee though, I use it to hear water for hot tea and hot chocolate. I have been thinking of getting a spiralizer too.
No clue what menu looks like but I have started with hot tea and Premier chocholate shake.
Have a great day!
Pamela

Morning! This is a busy weekend. Starts with a day prepping my old condo for a new tenant, whi*****ludes a trip to IKEA :) We're also going to see 3 Billboards. Tomorrow is Puppy Bowl Day!
QOTD: Oh I have so many... I always think I'm just one gadget away from being an amazing chef! I currently love my sous vide, and the gadget I'd most like to get is a dehydrator to make my own jerky.
Todays menu is a little undeveloped because we'll be eating out at various places all day. Best guess:
B: Protein coffee
S: almonds and cheese stick
L: protein forward option at a restaurant
S: Popcorn
D: protein forward option at a restaurant
Have fun at IKEA!

Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
Today I will be busy buying and arranging the flowers for my Sister-in-Law's mother's funeral which is tomorrow. I love arranging flowers, took a class in it once, and am very glad there is something I can do to help out. I am also painting "Mom", "Wife", "Grandma" and "Sister" on the containers in calligraphy. I sure hope I can do a good job on the flowers.
Tomorrow the high is only supposed to get up to 17 degrees and it's supposed to snow AGAIN! UGH!
QOTD: My microwave and my coffee maker.

Good morning! DH, SIL, and I had a great time at a dance last night. DH was dancing with everyone and kept saying we had to do that more often (we have another dance in 10 days).
Today we are going to a craft/art fair in Ft. Myers and tomorrow is Super Bowl (friend coming to watch and eat dinner with us).
I have a manual spiralizer which does make spiral noodles. It is so easy to use and clean, I wouldn't want to deal with an attachment to a mixer.
QOTD: Hmmm... probably my InstantPot, maybe because it is new? But over the long haul it has been my food processor. We bought it when we got married 36.5 years ago and it is still going strong!
1 year, 10 months post-op
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: ? (Out to lunch)
D: leftover grilled chicken and veggies ****ep substituting for them so this has been on my list for about 3 days now)
S: Cheese sticks
