Thanks - I do not get to Costco as often as I would like, both of these items look delish!

Great job on avoiding the doughnuts. I see a Costco trip in my near future (maybe this weekend!).

Good morning! Today I begin my liquid diet, have orientation this afternoon, and then DH and I are going to see one of our favorite metal bands in Lincoln (about 30-40 minutes from us).

Meals: I'm going to try my best to still have some variety. So for breakfast I'll have a chocolate protein shake (we get 100% Whey by the makers of muscle milk--another costco product). I can have yogurt on my full liquid diet as long as it doesn't have chunks, so I'll have a yogurt for lunch, and a Premier Protein at some point before we head to Lincoln, I'll have a bowl of broth with protein added. And of course, water water water.

Qotd: Lol JB beat me to the chicken skewers! From Costco:

I just want to chime in and say how proud I am of you - you have been so consistent leading up to surgery and really have your head in the game! I think you are really setting yourself up for success. I had a two week liquid diet and I was very lethargic and had a headache for the first 3 days but then I perked up and survived. Just remember, it kickstarts your loss and shrinks your liver so your surgeon doesn't poke it during surgery. You will go into surgery the healthiest! During my liquid phase I did a bunch of different protein shakes, and I liked them blended with ice the most. I would also have Unjury chicken broth flavor shakes (made with warm water, not hot or it will clump) for something savory. I also had sugar-free jello, sugar-free popsicles, and light and fit greek yogurts. It sucked, but was worth every single minute for the new active life I have now. I think you're doing awesome keeping your eye on the prize and I can't wait to see you rock your new tool in just a week or so!

Good morning menu folks! Yesterday afternoon, I finally got a phone call from the surgeon's office with a surgery date, Thursday, February 15. I am so relieved to finally know when it is going to happen. Last evening I started the ball rolling for finding assistance for the driving and lifting and other tasks that I will be limited on in the weeks following surgery. I concerned about not being able to exercise for a while. I will certainly miss it. I do plan to walk on the treadmill for a while...boring...but that should be easy enough to start pretty quickly.

Accountability: I have really been craving carbs with the stress in the last month. I've done pretty well with just an extra Quest bar several evenings. I am hoping that I can get a better handle on it now that I have more that I know.

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, 2 oz ham

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, almonds

Lunch: salmon, salad

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple

Dinner: eggs, 1 pancake, blueberries

Exercise: I hope to get in my deep water aerobics class since I will most likely miss it for a month or more
