How are all my Protein Pals? I am great! Its going to snow here again today, yay snow but boo hoo on driving in that crap! Why can't it snow overnight and be cleared in the AM? No, instead it snows when its high commute times like going to work or coming home from work, UGH. Lucky all you Southern people and retired people, I am jealous!

Accountability: I added in a banana before I went to the gym. And when I got back from the gym hubby had an open Cadbury Fruit & Nut bar on the counter he brought home from work, not sure if you all know that chocolate bar or not, but I had a piece. Do you know how hard it was to resist not eating the whole damn thing! UGH!!

QOTD: So its Super Bowl Sunday this weekend. Anyone here Super fans? Got fun plans? I do enjoy watching the game and we have been invited to a friends house to watch the game/have snacks etc but not sure if we are going or not or jus****ching it at home. And who are you routing for, Patriots or Eagles? I love the Pats, I think Tom Brady is really a superb athlete. And Justin Timberlake is performing at half time and I love me some JT.

Good morning! So remember how I said it was snowing during the morning commute? I saw a zillion accidents on the news so I decided until it died down...but it never died down! They had only predicted 2" but we ended up with 8"! So I stayed and worked from home. It was glorious! I was pretty productive and got a lot of old projects finished. Yay!

Accountability: Working from home is usually the hardest for me, but I was able to stay completely track--no BLTs all day! I switched out dinner to a veggie cheeseburger, which was fewer calories and the only "off plan" bites I took were of Grim's chicken at dinner.

QOTD: I really love the Puppy Bowl, with the Kitten Half-Time! That other game is not really my thing...

Good morning menu folks! It's colder and windy here this morning. My poor fingers were frozen and hurting by the time I got to the office this morning...argh! No snow though so all is safe and sound.

QOTD: regarding the SB, I'm not really a football fan, but my BIL is a huge Pats fan so we'll harass him no matter who wins!

Accountability: I'm really stressed with the surgery and the surgeon and his staff. I am considering looking for another surgeon who can get it done with less hassles. The stress is not helping my tummy or my cravings. I have done pretty well staying on plan though. I did have a half piece of cornbread yesterday, but other than that I was on plan.

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, ham

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: TJ's salmon, baby carrots

Snack: turkey breast, apple

Dinner: not sure, but maybe I will make some pork chops

Exercise: several short walks, a long walk at lunch, maybe an Aqua Zumba class this evening

I think if you have an option to see if you feel more comfortable with another surgeon you should definitely pursue that. I don't see anything wrong with getting a second opinion and reviewing your options, in the end you need to do what is best for you.

Thanks for the encouragement. After making a bit of a nuisance of myself this morning, the surgeon finally called me to apologize for the delay. He confirmed that I will need to have an open hysterectomy and be hospitalized for 2-3 days and out of work for about 6 weeks. Hopefully I can telework a few hours a day for some of that time. I have decided that if I do not get progress in the next day or two that I will make an appointment with someone else. I need to get this resolved and my patience is gone.

That sounds like a good way to handle it. You have been very patient, but it certainly seems like getting the surgery scheduled is overdue.

Good Morning! I'm actually posting early today :)

Accountability: I will start the plank challenge today (an app on my phone)

QOTD: I watch the Super Bowl every year. I don't like the Pats or the Eagles, so for me, it is all about the commercials this year.

Sorry! I'm one of those retired folks in the south (still getting used to it). I slogged through snow more times than I can count over the years and in my younger ones did a lot of driving in snow when it really wasn't very safe to do so (before my company started closing when it wasn't safe and letting people work from home). I had a couple of accidents in it too. So I feel like I put my time in mostly...

I hear you about the Cadberry. I wouldn't seek them out but if it was there in the open all bets would be off.

QOTD: Well, though I'm not a huge sports fan in general, of course I am routing for the Patriots! We are going to invite our friend in Venice over to watch and stay the night as it will be late for us old folks.

1 year, 10 months post-op

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Burger poolside with sauerkraut

D: Either leftover grilled chicken and veggies or going out

S: Almonds

No snow here in Illinois--in fact it's a bit warmer today. It's already 36 and supposed to get up to 50 I think. Much better than the 15 when Lily and I walked yesterday. We will do our 4 miles in a bit when it gets light and I'll do another mile after supper cleanup. QOTD could care less about the Super Bowl but it will probably be on here. Accountability was on track with no off plan bites taken. Post op 5 years 5 months and weight at 118 today. Heres the food for maintenance B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz turkey and cheese rollup 1/4 c roasted chickpeas D 31/2 oz ground beef with salsa and cheese (Hamburger Helper for the family)1/2 c steamed carrots S piece of beef jerky and 1/4 c Graze protein mix. Have a great day full of smart and conscious choices everyone! Now off to find some coffee!
