Hello all

In all honesty I am struggling with kicking snacking to the curb. I'm in therapy, I'm trying to keep busy, but... anyway.

QOTD: Back in the day it was ice skating. I was from a big hockey town so almost every one had a backyard rink. I was on a girls hockey team before it was mainstream, but figure skating was my love.

Good Morning!

QOTD: I only lived in a "wintery" spot for 3 years as a kid..(My dad was career Navy) but I loved building forts when we were kids, and sledding. My husband grew up in Upstate NY and was an avid snowboarder. I may have him teach me that next year. We take our scouts on a ski trip every year and so far I've never gone but I think I am next time.

Time since surgery: Tomorrow will be 9 weeks.

Menu:

B-Chicken bits and a salami/mozzerella wrap.

L-The eggplant/zuchinni recipe that was posted here last week. Leftovers from that. I added chicken italian sausages to it b/c I couldn't find the Turkey ones.

D-Scout night. I wor****il 6, my son has band until 6. So whatever my husband makes..we will eat in the car en route to scouts. ;)

Went to the gym after work last night and did a class called Sh'Bam. Its basically Zumba with hip hop vs. Salsa. And lets just say I know why I quit going to zumba years ago. I have no coordination for those type of classes. LOL! We took a class at 5:15 this am called FITCAMP. They do alot of burpees in that class. One day I'll do those too. hah!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning! Not to brag, but we have warmed up over here and are seeing temps in the 80's for the foreseeable future. I'm not a fan of heat, I actually prefer cool/cold fall weather the best. My sweaters and boots may think I've forgotten about them ;(. Haven't driven in snow for over 25 years and I don't miss it one bit!

QOTD - When I was a kid ice skating and cross country skiing were my favorite winter activities. We would actually cross country ski for gym class in Jr and Sr high school. Sledding was awesome too!

Accountability - I've been having a lot anxiety lately and I am having a hard time managing it all. Yesterday I ended up eating a protein bar I hadn't planned for during a rather high anxiety moment and it instantly calmed me. A rush like wave came over me and literally washed away some of my anxiety. I've never been so aware of this experience, it was eye opening. I cannot return to food to cope, I need to find other outlets. It's so hard to find time right now, but I need to start exercising again or I'm going to go crazy. I can at least go for a daily walk. I've been procrastinating joining a local yoga studio - not sure why - I need it now more than ever.

14 mo post op

b-coffee w/hc, 2 HB eggs

l-tuna w/mayo and pickles

d-eggs and sausage

v/l - on track

e - WALK

Have a good day!

Good morning Daisy and Carb Crushers! No snow, but cold...days seem to getting longer so I am counting the days until spring. I enjoy winter, but am ready for it to be over! LOL

Accountability - great will power Daisy, I need to practice that approach, I cave in and have a protein bar. It is ironic that you had that struggle yesterday as I was craving sweets so had a protein bar late, no skinny popcorn last night so that is a win! baby steps I guess.

QOTD - I can remember we were always outside, it did not matter the temperature, never bored always doing something. I was fortunate that my Dad made my brother and I an Ice Rink in our yard, our house was the hang out after school, we would play hockey for hours.

Menu -

B - hard boiled eggs x 2

S - oikos zero

L - 90/10 burger no bun and 100 gm reed potatoes

S - five grain hot cereal and almond butter

D - baked salmon and salad

Protein shake after gym.

Tonight I am working on chest, triceps and abs.

Stay healthy my friends.

Hello Everyone,

Lots of snow here too. They didn't cancel school though and it's kind of unusual with the amount of snow we have. Kind of slick for HS to drive in. Sometimes they cancel school when there's an inch on the ground so with today's 6" or so it was a surprise and I could have used the time off.

Accountability: On track since Sunday. I've switched items like chicken for steak or tuna etc but still good with calories and macros.

QOTD: I hated all activity when I was young. I was always picked last for team sports etc so I think I just lumped everything together and just disliked it all.

B: coffee and premier protein

L: leftover chicken and sirloin with orange pepper

D: pork for pork carnitas, brussel sprouts

Morning folks! Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I switched out some of my planned menu. I ran to the store for cat food, and while there thought I would buy some shrimp. I haven't been able to have any fish yet without sticking and pain, and had avoided shrimp and other shellfish because I was afraid it would be equally painful. But it was just fine, no discomfort at all, and wow is that stuff low in calories yet so very high in protein! I'm excited about varying my menus a bit more! I'm perfectly satisfied tastewise, but nutritionally i know I need more variety. So that is progress! Yay shrimp!

QPTD: I loved sledding. Our house was on a hill, and wow was that ever fun, especially during our rare snow days! I also loved building snow forts and snowmen. A girl who lived in the next street over was completely fascinated by all things Native American. She was a few years older than me, and also very artistic. One year she built a beautiful, prancing snow horse in her back yard, and at dusk she ran water from a hose all over it. it froze solid during the night to the point that we could sit on it's back and pretend to ride - it was huge! That horse lasted a really long time, too, melting very gradually. It was very cool, though extremely cold to sit on!

First: tea with cashew milk, vanilla protein drink

B: Turkey, cheddar

L: shrimp and green beans

D: Turkey

Wishing you all a good day!
