What's on your Menu Today (Tuesday) RNYers?
on 1/30/18 2:03 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hey Carb Crushers, how are you all? We got a crap ton of snow here last evening/overnight. I love snow, always have. I am a very good driver and snow does not scare me at all. I have snow tires and a great car that I can handle easy in any weather. My issue when it snows is the people who are petrified of snow and either go so below the speed limit it will cause an accident or they take up two lanes because they fear trying to drive in one lane etc etc. For all the scared drivers, do us all a favor and stay home or get an Uber, thanks!
Accountability: On point, no extra BLTs. Here is weird for you though... I was not hungry but I was craving sweets. Every time I thought of eating a chocolate bar I made myself a decaf coffee or I asked myself "you want to eat a chocolate bar but you don't want to eat the yogurt or tandoori chicken you have in your lunch bag, so are you really hungry or is this a mind game you play with yourself." Yes I do have these conversations LOL. I wasn't hungry, it was head hunger.
QOTD: What was your favourite winter activity/sport as a kid. I grew up in the 70s. We got a TON of snow back then. I remember building tunnels in the snow with the local kids (so unsafe but man it was fun). My Mom & sister & I did a lot of cross country skiing and it was so cool being out in nature and its quite the workout. But my all time favourite winter activity as a kid was tobogganing! LOVED IT. We lived beside a dairy farm and there was this one ginormous hill the Farmer let us toboggan on and myself and the other local kids would be on that hill from sun up to sun down. Best times ever.

Good morning everyone! We got some snow here, too. But since we aren't hearty Canadians, we have a two hour school delay this morning, lol. But I am on my way to my schools that are furthest away, so I will be lucky to get there in under 3 hours, today.
Accountability: Perfect. I actually skipped one meal, so ended the day under calories and was able to pass on the BLTs, too.
QOTD: I really am more of a summer girl--winter sports were not really my thing. Too cold, and I have have a total irrational fear of ski lifts. Haha. I tried snow shoeing through the woods a few years ago and I enjoyed it, but I haven't tried it since.
Good morning menu folks! Daisy and JB, enjoy your snow and drive carefully. I am a fairly good driver in the snow, but here we have so many drivers who are not familiar with driving in the snow and ice and it makes a real hazard getting out. Fortunately, I can sometimes telework when the weather is icky so that helps.
Accountability: I did pretty well yesterday and only had one extra Quest bar in the afternoon.
QOTD: I tried skiing once and almost hurt myself. I've never been very athletic so in the winter I usually just stayed in. Also we don't get alot of snow here to do something like snowshoeing or cross country skiing that I think I would like more than downhill.
Menu:
Breakfast: eggs, chicken breast
Snack: Cappaccino protein shake
Lunch: TJ's salmon, salad
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple
Dinner: not really sure since I won't be home until late.
Exercise: several short walks, some swimming and deep water aerobics

Good morning menu peeps. I'm back from camping. We had snow(just a dusting) Sunday night too and it was snowing when Lily and I walked on the trails yesterday morning. She had so much fun and will li,ely be bored with our 4 mile walk around town when it gets light. I will also do a mile on the treadmill after supper cleanup. Accountability was crap as I got snacky late and ate two handfuls of nuts I did not need. QOTD not athletic as a child but did love snowball fights. As an adult I wish I knew someone who could teach me to cross country ski. It looks like amazing exercise! Post op 5 years 5 months and weight at 117.6 today with all my hikes while camping. Heres the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 1 c chicken and veggie stew D 31/2 oz ribeye 1/2 c green beans S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone!
Karen, glad that you had fun camping and got in some hiking in the snow. Sounds like fun!

Good morning! I can't say I miss the snow, though I do like how it looks when it is coming down or just fallen and is fresh and clean. And I miss when you can stay in and watch it or take a walk just after. BUT I don't miss slogging around to work and back or running errands and being frozen (though I miss wearing my cute boots, LOL).
I was pretty much on plan with eating the last couple of days (after a bad day Saturday), but my weight was up both days. I always hate that!
QOTD: I guess ice skating was my winter sport, other than playing in the snow. I was an okay basic skater (nothing fancy),but I enjoyed it especially outside.
1 year, 10 months post-op
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Out to lunch (I'm thinking Ahi Tuna based on my preview of the menu)

QOTD: hmmm does shopping count as a childhood sport? I think it will be my answer. I was born into it, my mom is a super shopper and I learned from her and my grandma. We use to see how very little we could spend and loved finding bargains. So needless to say, I didn't DO sports/activities like that. I did take dance ballet and jazz for a short period and loved it buy with 3 kids in the family it was pricy
Food for today:
leftover bbq
egg whites
homemade coleslaw
haven't really been 'feeling' food the past couple weeks, been so so busy
Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!
My 6 hour drive to and from Omaha for my 2-year check-up went well! They took blood, weighed me, took my blood pressure and asked how I was doing. They said I was at a normal weight, (143), and didn't need to lose any more.
QOTD: As a kid I enjoyed sledding and building snowmen. As an adult I enjoyed doing snow sculptures and once built a snow volkswagon. I have never snow skied and would probably break my legs!
Accountability: Yesterday: I was bored driving and wanted to have something to munch on as I drove, but I didn't give in. Protein - 81, Calories - 1,285, Carbs - 122.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: beef & broccoli
D: taco meat, 1/2 tortilla shell, cheese
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups
E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a FANTASTIC day everyone!
