Happy Photo Friday Meat Minions! Its "Before & After" photos today! Let's see whatcha got.
Who has great weekend plans? We have a chill weekend and then the month of February we have every weekend booked with lots of fun things so will just take the downtime this weekend and enjoy. I am going to the gym tomorrow for step & muscle pump and then might hit Costco or we might go and see the movie "Jumanji"on Saturday night.
Accountability: I realize I am not hungry in the morning so I am just going to drink my coffee with PP and save my food for later in the day/evening when I am actually hungry. Yesterday was on point.
QOTD: Tell me a tip or trick (or as many as you like) that you learned here on OH or here on the daily menu thread. There are so many for me but I will only write a couple. I can't remember who I saw do this and so I can't give credit to the right person (sorry!) but the idea of putting vanilla premier protein in my coffee as creamer, its brilliant! Also the Vets here have said many times to keep a detailed list of your lab work results. This has literally saved me after I had a Ferritin of 4 and the Vets helped me with what to do. Also knowing what is "normal" for a post RNY patient versus a normal person with our lab results is life changing. Also learning what RH (reactive hypoglycemia) is, how to combat it and how to (if possible) avoid it in the first place. I have learned so much in the four years I have been here on OH and I am still learning!

Good morning. It's Fri-YAY! I proactively called out sick yesterday and woke up feeling a lot better this morning, already! Whoops. Oh well... I am going to take the day and rest to try to get all the way better. Yay for an unexpected long weekend!
Accountability: I didn't bring food with me to work yesterday because I thought I could pop in and out for a meeting, but I ended up staying for 6 hours. I never ate anything. Yikes. But Grim made me a giant pile of bacon last night for dinner and I think that is why I feel so much better today! :)
I'm recycling a before & after that I have used before because I am too lazy to find a new set of pics. Sorry for not being original!
QOTD: Where do I begin? So many! But here are two that stick with me:
1.) Exercise is great, but not how to lose weight. When I was obese, I always believed that I was just a jog away from being svelte, and that not exercising was my problem. I see now that food calories are the key and that exercise is a great way to be fit and toned, but losing weight is all about calories in.
2.) Food can't count as two things--it can't be a carb and a protein, for example...if it's a carb it's a carb. That's helped me stay away from all those tempting goodies like "high protein muffins" and other crap in the grocery store.
Awsome Julia - you look happy in both, yet so healthy in after pic, inspirational
- Pre- Surgery/ Type 2 Diabetes, High BP and Cholesterol, treated with 6 medications, including Insulin. Post Op- low dose BP med 2022, Mounjaro 10/2023
HW - 299 , Consult day weight - 277, Day of surgery ( 11/19/2014) - 259,LW - 178, GW - 195, CW- 194.2 - reached goal
Glad that you are feeling better. I also think that if Grim had to do something to help you that bacon is better than Vicks. I certainly smells better!

You are so stinking cute! Both before and after!
Bacon for dinner? No wonder you love him!
Good point about the working out... SO SO many people I know that are fighting their weight really truly believe they can work out to lose... and I try to fight the good fight and tell them otherwise, but rarely do they believe me... Sigh.
