Congratulations on 6 years!

I have a friend that had a liver transplant 3 years ago... she has returned to smoking and drinking. It breaks my heart (and ****** me off) that she's doing this after such a huge gift.

That happens more with liver transplants.

There are many hoops to jump through to get a kidney.

I'm sorry your friend is throwing away her most precious gift.

Good Morning! Today should be a pretty busy day but I'll take it since some of it is doing some phone screens to fill an open position I have at the moment. I am hoping to find the right person for what my team needs.

Accountability: I had local support group last night and for some reason towards the end I got mild blood sugar issues (RH from something but doesn't make sense with what I had eaten) so when I got home I ate a PB&J on lowcarb Lavash and a protein bar.

QOTD: I had WLS because I had high blood pressure, was pre-diabetic and wanted to be around to watch Emily grow up. I wanted to be active and comfortable in my own skin. LOVE YOUR LIST, DAISY!

Time since surgery: 3 years 5 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Salami, Carbmaster yogurt, and mixed nuts

D: 3 oz shredded chicken, shredded cheese, sour cream and salsa on lettuce

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with canned pumpkin and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1175 Protein:129 Carbs:70 Fat:45

Have a great one!

RH sucks.

And it's sucks worse that you can't even pinpoint why!

Hoping it doesn't happen again anytime soon!

I had WLS to be the woman I always wanted to be.

Before WLS I was convinced I was too greedy too eager just too HUNGRY to succeed in fields that at least partially require good lines.( physical not verbal lol)

i do feel like I've been the amazing gift of eating what I crave till I'm stuffed every single meal and day .. and years post op I'm still healthy as a horse .. sexy and thin and still fitting into my lowest weight post op clothes and bikinis.

I try to share my fat-reduced recipes but I often find posters don't want to listen - there's a prejudice or preference for high fat foods I just can't get over.

Middle of last nite I snacked on cold pad Thai with ginger scallion lobster and wild caught flounder.

In the afternoon I enjoyed green bean casserole a la ALDIS with butter buds added for taste : been snacking on this tray for three days literally! 149 calories fir a quarter of the huge family sized tray?!!! totally delish.

Morning chai tea and salted ? buttered? air popped popcorn. ( the topping is butter buds and Mr mcGraws or whatever popcorn topping

Hi,

I have tried low fat dieting with Weigh****chers and also on my own. It wasn't lack of creativity as I am pretty well versed in low fat cooking. I just didn't lose much and after 3-4 months I gave up. I don't eat fatty foods now per se, but I limit my carbs and focus on protein. I would love to see your recipes. Long term I don't want to eat a keto diet. I like variety too much.

I think at some point i will write a book.

Eating i find is like playing music - you can affect each note but if you influence the overall effect by saying for instance "i need to eat oil" you will prevent yourself from losing weight.

I find that if you are willing to listen to your body, move reasonably but hopefully almost every day and if you can refuse to eat solely for entertainment or to alleviate boredom when your body's not hungry you will be very successful long and short term - with your health , with your clothes sizes and with the way your body looks.

success post op is EASY - our rationalizations and clinging to unhealthy habits get in our way

Good Morning Everyone,

It was a sheet of ice here too this a.m. and I nearly slide on my rump getting into work!

Accountability: I did ok but I ended up picking constantly at the veggies I was making for dinner. I realize that's not an awful thing to pick on but it is so damn hard to get my mouth to want to stop chewing once I start. Anyone have a clue on how to do that? Oof!

QOTD: I'd had a lapband in 2006 cause I was sick and tired of being fat but it really didn't work. I had RNY so that I could get the "crapband" out and didn't want to regain what little I'd lost and kept off. Little did I know how successful I'd be or how much happier I feel. I'm off all meds, blood pressure, anti-depresents and my rosacea is gone. My arthritis in my knees and foot are rarely bothersome. Only thing it didn't do for me is fix my head.....
