What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Ugh. I'm so sorry that didn't work out for you. I know it's a cliche', but I believe it truly does mean that there is something even better for you on the horizon... just keep looking and it will find you
(In the meantime, yell, kick, scream, and be pissed... get it out of your system, and don't reach for that bag of 'comfort' that will only **** you off more afterwards)

desk shift this morning, so this will be quick (I think....)
I emailed my DEXA scan report (that I had done a year ago) to my new PCP yesterday. She emailed me back and said I have osteoporosis, and we'll start a five-year treatment plan. She is the fourth medical person who has seen that report, and NO ONE pointed out that I had osteoporosis! (the DEXA scan tech really couldn't, because she's not a licensed medical professional so she legally can't diagnose things, but I'd sent it to my bariatric surgeon's office and to my former PCP as well. The PA at the bariatric surgeon's office told me to bump up my calcium to 2000 mg/day (from 1500 mg), which I did - but he didn't mention osteoporosis (I knew my bone density was "below average" for my age, the DEXA tech told me that, but I had no idea how bad it was). My former PCP never responded at all to the report. WTH??? I know my current PCP (started with her this month) is very interested in bones, but seriously - why didn't these other people ever say anything??). Well, at least I've been taking more calcium. We'll see what she'll have me do....
Accountability was good yesterday. I followed the plan up until dinner. I did have my salad, as planned, but I didn't want pulled pork. I really wanted a piece of crustless protein pumpkin pie, and I knew I wouldn't have enough calories for both, so I went for the pie (it has 11 grams of protein per slice, so not too bad...). Overall calories were good - within budget.
QOTD: I was planning on holding off surgery until I was 65 so Medicare would cover it, but it got to the point that I wasn't sure I was going to live to see my 65th birthday unless I got that weight off. It was completely out-of-control and I was afraid I was a heart attack waiting to happen..
