Good morning menu folks! I am back in the office and not in too much pain from my dental surgery. Now I just need to wait 4-6 months for everything to heal before they can finish the tooth with a crown.

QOTD: I had WLS surgery because my health was getting worse. My diabetes and high blood pressure weren't under good control with meds and my asthma was getting worse.

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal, turkey sausage

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: whiting, salad

Snack: string cheese, apple

Dinner: turkey breast, broccoli slaw

Exercise: a family emergency interfered with swimming yesterday...boo hiss...but I will get in my hour swim today and hopefully a walk at lunch

Good morning menu peeps! Accountability was good yesterday with no extra bites or tastes even though the urge was strong. Another win! QOTD I had surgery because I was tired of my joints hurting all day everyday and I didn't want to die early like my parents. My blood pressure was sky high on three pills, I was about to start on insulin for my diabetes and I spent more time with doctors than my family. A trip to the grocery store was exhausting and I was sitting on the sidelines catching my breath while others were living life. Best decision ever. Post op 5 years 4.75 months and weight at 118.6 today. Lily and I will walk our 4 miles in a bit when it gets light out and I'll do a mile on the treadmill sometime before bed. Heres the food for maintenance today B 2 scrambled eggs and a piece of bacon L P3 pak(on the road to a meeting) D not sure as we'll stop somewhere on the way home but it will be protein forward S sm apple with 1 T peanut buttet. Have a great day full of healthy choices everyone!

Yes I ate out with a group of ladies from church this morning. I thought it might be odd to bring peanut butter from home for their oats so ordered eggs instead. Lily is exhausted now--we just got back from our walk. So am I!

Good morning! Yes, many of us have already ingested at least part of the days vitamins. It is supposed to be beautiful here today, and we are looking forward to it.

QOTD: I had WLS because I would lie in bed thinking I was going to have an early heart attack, like my fathers and grandfathers generation. Because I was afraid of my pre-diabetes progressing. Because my doctor recommended it. Because I didn't recognize my round face anymore.

1 year, 10 months post-op

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: part of cheeseburger (no bun)

D: leftovers (taco meat or non-noodle lasagna or grouper)

S: yogurt

Good Morning Daisy and VV's. Ryley leaves for Boston today, participating in the Harvard Model UN, they are also going to a play, a BC Hockey game and the science museum, he is looking forward to the trip and it will be a wonderful experience.

Accountability - skinny popcorn was added again last night.

QOTD - I had WLS Because my health was spiraling out of control, I was a type 2 diabetic with an a1c of 11.2 , I was on insulin and 5 other meds for diabetes and high BP. I watched a good friend lose a leg to diabetes and I decided to go through with the process once I heard a neighbor had WLS. Ironically my good friend died 2 days prior to my surgery date, his funeral was the day after my surgery. I had some lonely hours in the hospital thinking of him and wondering why he did not take better care of himself.

B - One hard boiled egg

S - Fage 0% , 1/2 cup of blueberries and 1 tbsp of almond butter

L - smoked chicken breast and 100 g of roasted in cocnut oil red potatoes

S - five grain hot cereal and almond butter.

D - Left over meatloaf and roasted brussel sprouts

E - I have an off day with my workout program today

Stay healthy my friends...Mike

I had an aunt that started off losing toes, then up to her knee... before she died she had lost her entire leg, and I believe another foot... so sad what diabetes will do to someone.

I bet that time in the hospital for you was really hard
