Yes, about 20% of white boxers are deaf, I knew that. Our last girl was a white deaf boxer... this one though isn't like a typical deaf dog, and we are fairly certain her deafness came after birth. She has a very strong bark, which isn't typical of a deaf dog, and she can hear certain pitches and sounds (my husband dropped a frying pan lid on the stove and she jumped and looked, and when our little dog barks, Cam can hear her).

It appears she was beaten as a pup because of how hand shy she was/is... and we wonder if someone didn't smack her upside the head one too many times...

She's kind of saved us as well... losing both of our boxers to cancer within 4 months of each other last year was ROUGH... we (ie, hubby) weren't sure it was time to actually have another one, but we (he) fell in love with this one. She's good for healing the heart, for sure!

I love rescuing dogs! I wish I could talk hubby into having another one! He's not completely opposed to it, but he's not quite ready just yet.

Oh my gosh! So precious!!! I knew a dog that used to watch tv very intensely and used to bark at it even when there was a cartoon dog on the screen. They're so smart!

We are really trying to work with her on this one, as cute as it is, it's really not a good behavior because she's being Dominant... she doesn't need to be protecting us in that way (and, we really like our TV, and I'm so afraid she's going to truly go after the dog and maul the TV )

I just love her!
