What's on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
on 1/19/18 3:10 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hello Protein Pals! How is everyone? Its the weekend! Who has great plans this weekend? Tonight will be lots of rest & relaxing, getting my hair cut & colored on Saturday morning and in the evening we have an engagement party to go of one of my husband's cousins. Sunday is chores day.
Photo Friday is open topic everyone, post any pic you feel like
Accountability: Well I had a huge pouch day yesterday and I wanted to eat the world. I ate extra cheese, some olives, extra shrimp, a Grande Skinny vanilla latte and two white chocolate Lindt balls. UGH!
QOTD: Where do you see yourself in 5 years terms of WLS? Do you think you will still be a part of OH? Will you be posting a menu here and supporting newbies etc? In 5 years I will be in my 10th year post op. I do see myself still here on OH, still posting a menu (not sure if I will still be the moderator or not) and still supporting and giving advice where I can. I "plan" on still being at goal and following the rules, this is a promise I have made myself for my health and longevity of life.
Time since surgery: 4 years + 2 months
TOTALS: 971 calories, 101 protein, 51 carbs
V: PatchMD patches are on
E: rest night, chilling & watching Netflix
Here is my photo Friday pic: I made a big crock pot of chili on Sunday. Hubby has been eating it a lot this week and we portioned out the rest and put in the freezer for future grab & go meals. I put lots of "stuff" in my chili so there is mushrooms, red bell pepper, chickpeas, red kidney beans, lots of onion & garlic and lots of cayenne & chili powder. Its pretty yummy!
Have an awesome weekend everyone!!

10+ years post op, living & loving life!
Good morning Daisy and menu folks! Daisy, your chili looks great! I made a batch last weekend that we have been eating off of. It had lots of ground beef, beans and veggies...yum!
My OBGYN appointment yesterday went fairly well. The doctor was better than I expected, which was a great relief. He will write up a surgery plan for an open hysterectomy in the next few weeks. Hopefully I will have more details next week about the date, recovery time, hospital stay and all of those more practical details that I worry about. I am relieved that I am one step closer to a resolution though.
I went straight from the doctor to the pool (well it was an hour's drive in rush hour traffic!) and did 35 minutes of laps and then my deep water aerobics class. After surgery I won't be able to be in the pool for a while and I will certainly miss it. I will have to walk on the treadmill for a while, which as Karen P agrees is totally boring! I plan to get in a swim sometime today too.
Tomorrow I have my tooth implant put in. I will be glad to not have a whole in my mouth any more, but I will still have to wait several months to have it finished with the crown. No real plans except to rest on Sunday after another stressful week.
Accountability: I was on target yesterday except that I had a few more carbs than planned because I had a Quest bar instead of a protein shake on the way to the pool.
Menu:
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 3 pieces of turkey bacon, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple
Lunch: Turkey breast or TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: crab cake, kale
Exercise: hour of swimming and maybe some water weight work

Wow, that sounds so stressful, but at least the process seems to be moving quickly for you. I hope you get to rest and relax this weekend :)
I am very grateful that things are moving. Waiting is really difficult. My abdomen looks like I have an alien baby coming out, so it will be nice to have that gone and less pain. I am also going to see whether I can get some of the extra skin removed if possible. A 2-for-1

That would be perfect! If you have to have down time anyway it would be great if there was some side benefit.

Thanks Karen! I am a real planner and will be more relieved when I can get things organized and moving.

The waiting and wondering on the details can be more stressful than the procedure at times. I hope you get the details soon so you know where everything stands. Hope you get some R & R over the weekend.
