Good luck with your move. I hope your furbaby will feel better with the new meds. When my elderly dog started pain meds, it made a huge difference.

Yum--crab cakes. Sounds much better than my steak.

Steak vs. fresh crab cakes...hard decision for me!

Good morning Daisy and menu folks! It is snowing here and windy, but I made it to the office. The major roads were treated and not bad, but the sidewalks were completely awful and a mess. I'm glad that I made it inside without any falls.

Yesterday was my follow up with my PCP. There was good news all around. My lab work was really good. Even my ferratin was 69, not great, but not a 3 like I have had. My total cholesterol was up a little bit to 169, but my HDL is a 65, which is great! The only other oddity is my B12 is really high, so I will just take my supplements less often.

In more critical news, I have 2 very large uterine fibroids in the lining of my uterus. One is more than 6 inches and the other is almost 4. The good news is that they are most likely benign. The bad news is that they are large enough that I will probably need major surgery. She was able to get me in to see an OBGYN surgeon tomorrow afternoon. I am very grateful that I don't have to wait a long time to get more information. Sometimes I feel grateful and other times I feel scared.

Yesterday after my appointment, I went straight to the pool and did an hour of laps and a half hour of water exercises and weights. My deep water aerobics class was canceled, but I did the work anyway. When I got home, I felt a great deal better. It worked off the adrenalin so I could relax. Thank goodness for my exercise!

Menu: I am doing fairly well although I had an extra apple and nuts last evening at bedtime. Rather healthy, but I just didn't need it and it was mostly head hunger, not actual hunger and fuel needs.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, oatmeal, ham

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: TJ's Herb Mustard salmon, salad

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple

Dinner: probably turkey breast since I hope to go swimming again tonight which means getting home late.

Exercise: several short indoor walks, 30-60 minutes of swimming, maybe an extra Aqua Zumba class

Sorry to hear about the fibroids. One of my goals for 2018- no surgeries. LOLOL

What was your B-12? Just wondering because most of us feel better on higher B-12. Mine has been was above 1000 at times and the Doc hasn't batted an eye.
