Hello menu builders! How are you all? I am good! Glad its mid week already, it has been a busy week for me in just two days! LOL
Accountability: Well I did a bunch of menu flips but it was all protein forward. I had Starbucks egg bites for breakfast (to die for), I worked through lunch and skipped it and had a bacon, cheese & chive omelette for dinner.
QOTD: What or Who are you a "closet" fan of? I adore "Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer." ADORE! I think he is quite handsome and is just brilliant in his training of dogs/animals. When we were training our two Labs eight years ago we used all of his techniques/advice and if I may say so myself our dogs are exceptionally well trained. The man knows his stuff. I also have a secret crush on "The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson," in my next life I will be his wife, shhhh don't tell my hubby LOL
Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 2 months post op
TOTALS: 982 calories, 106 protein, 41 carbs
V: PatchMD vitamin patches are on (Iron, Multi, B12, Calcium & Vit D)
E: 5km hike with the dogs in the snow, may skip the gym tonight and just chill after the dog hike
Have an awesome day everyone!

Good morning. Thanks for the well wishes for Dad. They released him late yesterday afternoon, but it is frustrating that he never was transferred to a teaching hospital (to many flu cases and no beds!). He stayed at a tiny little town hospital that did not even have a cardiologist or neurologist. So they watched him, but no one tried to get to the bottom of why he keeps having seizures. He wasn't even treated for the a-fib... they told him to follow up with a cardiologist after he is released. I mean, I am glad he is home, of course, but just annoyed that he keeps coming home without answers.
QOTD: I am a closet fan of really stupid reality shows like Dance Moms and Big Brother. I haven't seen any of these shows in years but I used to find them to be nice brain escapes :) I gasped a little when I saw an ad for Celebrity Big Brother. I sooooo want to watch that ****
JB, so glad to hear your Dad is home but I can just imagine your frustration with the lack of answers. You would think doctors would also like to know how to prevent future seizures. Will keep you all in my prayers for answers.

sorry to hear about your dad - I would have been really upset about that, too. And yes - small town hospitals are perfectly fine for things like having babies, but if you have some kind of complicated case, forget it. It's not their fault - they just don't have the appropriate specialists on staff to deal with it. My mom was really upset (rightfully so) last year when she took my brother to the ER of his little town hospital with very severe depression. They gave him a pamphlet on suicide prevention and sent him on his way. WTH?? He should have been admitted or at least put on some kind of medication, but no. It's a good thing he didn't commit suicide (he's OK now - my mom insisted he get in to see his regular PCP right away, and s/he put him on a couple of different antidepressants. But if not for that, this could have been a disaster!). And that wasn't even a particularly complicated case!!
Not knowing the cause of your Dads seizures is hard for everyone. I hope he can get to the right specialist to get to the bottom of what's going on soon.
