Hunger pains

Lol first of all, I used those as an example. I haven't had potatoes since my second week post op when i was on puréed. Secondly, carrots are carbs - which is what I meant when I said they are hard to avoid as most things have some sort of carbs IN them. Third of all, you can keep your attitude down a notch, thanks.

Someone does need to take their attitude "down a notch", but it isn't Julie.

Your post asks for ideas and thoughts but apparently you are not getting the answers you had hoped for. People have taken the time to give you feedback as you requested. You've shot down nearly every one of them and in the process you've been rude to some of the kindest people on the boards here. In addition, your story keeps changing.

You may want to reconsider your approach. You are only six weeks out from surgery eating foods and/or volumes not consumed by many of us who are years postop. You've also been here on OH less than a month. Apparently that has not been long enough for you to have grasped board etiquette.

No one with more than a year or two experience is going to tell you that it's ok to be eating grains and carbs at six weeks out. Or that it's ok to eat more or differently than your surgeon has specified because you feel hungry. You're going to do what you want, and your results will end up reflecting that.

All of the justification, reasoning and excuses in the world won't change physiology. No matter what lies you tell yourself in your head.

Good luck. Believe it or not, everyone wants you to succeed with this. Including me.

Thank you. But for the record, if I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't have come and asked. If I WAS having, say bread, every morning, and rice or something every evening or afternoon, I would have no problem admitting to that as I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. I just wanna help myself because what I am experiencing isn't pleasant ... the no desire to know me, it's stuff like that, that is just unnecessary.. i would never attack someone for asking questions. I'm asking because I want to do my best, that's all. If I offended you then I apologize.

You are talking to people like me who did not have a slice of bread until I was more than three years out from surgery. It was allowed on my plan, but I knew better.

We know you are getting bad advise from your dietitian but feel bad that you believe what they are telling you. They are happy if you lose half of your excess weight and never get to goal.

We are hoping you will lose all of your excess weight, get to goal and keep it off. Grains will prevent you from doing that.

I had hoped not to need to post again on this thread. But I'm not going to let that go. YOU are the one that told me that I needn't act like I know you. I used your own words to reply to you. Get it? YOUR wording. Not mine.

Responding to your hubris and rude attitude toward someone who meant you no harm is not attacking. If you read my post you would have noted that I had and have zero problems with the questions.

My point was made clearly in my first post and I'm not going to re-write it.

I'm one year out and I don't find carbs hard to avoid. I just literally eat protein and veggies. If you do that, I can assure you, you won't have room for any carbs to slip in. Protein first, and veggies if you have room. You'll never get to the carbs.

What is your fluid intake like? Are you getting in a minimum of 64 oz a day? Sometimes dehydration can mimic hunger pains. I also find drinking non-sugar and non-artificially sweetened beverages is better as the others perpetuate carb cravings & hunger.
