Good Morning and Happy Fri-yay! Sorry your week had had so much chaos. I am ready for this week to be over and enjoy some rest this weekend. I have an appointment to get my hair done tomorrow and that will at least be a few hours since it's a "color appointment". I love your new car-glad you're enjoying it.

Accountability: I had protein cake bites when I was relaxing, I think I should have just gone to bed though.

QOTD: I have been given some really good advice from a few of my managers over time. I appreciate that a few have taken me under their wing and helped me grow by providing support and criticism when needed.

Time since surgery: 3 years 5 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Salami, Carbmaster yogurt, and mixed nuts

Mornin' All!

Your new car looks great, JB!!

I need to jump in the shower and head out the door - it's already 8:30! I can't believe I'm still lollygagging around! There's nothing I really need to be in my office for today, so I may start out working remotely (at a coffee shop, of course). The only thing that really could stand to be done is buying books, which I can do from anywhere. I'm actually looking forward to the semester starting so I'll be super busy again (can't believe I'm saying that...). I'm meeting a friend for lunch, then back to book buying.

Accountability was great yesterday, weight down 1.6 lbs today. YAY! Hopefully it's the start of a trend and not one of those bizarro fluctuations that seem to have no rhyme or reason.

QOTD: nothing is coming to mind, really. My father never seemed terribly interested in us, and I can't really think of a piece of advice my mom gave me that stands out. I got some good advice from books, though - like living well below your means so you always have some money tucked away for emergencies and so that you can continue to live comfortably if/when you can no longer work.

2 years 7 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1 T tahini and fresh raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax latte shake

L: meeting a friend at a Mexican place, so either the innards of a couple of tacos or a fajita (meat & veggie part only)

D: probably chili or pulled pork

ex: yoga

Good morning! Well my walk in to work was wet and cold, raining and ice pellets mixed because it was sitting right at that freezing limit. Cruddy weather, too windy for an umbrella so I've hung up all of my clothes in the office with a fan and my space heater on them. Nice and warm now though.

B: protein bar and a coffee

MS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt with 1/2 cup blueberries

L: Beef barley soup! Man Lunches have been amazing this week. I remember when I used to get excited about cool things. Sigh....

AS: Same as MS but with strawberries.

S: Not sure

ES: Decaf and some peanuts/veggies if I absolutely NEED something but I've been OK lately. I'm at goal but trying to drop another 15.

All vitamins and I've been slamming back the water like a fish this week.

QOTD: My uncle told me once, "If your give a $$#&@ is broken, fix it for you, not them" (referring to my workplace). It's kept me from losing my mind around here LOL.....

In all seriousness, I've received all sorts of general advice, but one thing sticks out in my mind. My great grandmother said to me once (after my heart was shredded to pieces), "When you fall off a horse, the best way for it to stop hurting is to stand up, dust yourself off, punch the horse in the mouth if you have to, and climb back in the saddle. That doesn't just go for matters of the heart, dear. It applies to everything." She was pretty amazing.
