Good morning JB and menu crew! Friday! Now that I have weekends off for the first time in over ten years I feel like Fridays actually mean something again haha. JB, I hope the pain goes away. It could just be random body pains but I would definitely go to the doc anyway! I've had kidney issues since I was a little kid and you just don't want to mess around with that or put it off. Keep us posted!

accountability: ok, I'm supposed to be CAMAW this week but I broke down and ate a salad last night... It. Was. So. Good. Very healthy and fresh BUT now I feel like a failure for not making it all the way :(

qotd: I can't say that I've had many mentors or teachers that I was close enough to to get good advice. Most of my gems came from my grandpa. They're mostly little phrases and things. My favorite is "seen a lot of trouble and most of it didn't happen" it always reminds me to take a step back and breathe when my anxiety kicks in and my brain goes into catastrophic thinking mode (which happens a lot haha). He was full of so much wisdom in so many ways. I miss him all the time

s- not sure! It's a friend's birthday and we're going out to dinner. I'm going to try to only drin****d tea or something but I might order a some kind of meat and take most of it home.

v- patches, iron and d3, extra fiber

e- I don't know, guys! After working all day and walking the dogs last night my knee was hurting so bad that I didn't even make it to the treadmill for a climb. I'm so disappointed because I'm really trying to get back on track and finally make it to goal but being benched like this is making it really hard! I did do some core work though (leg lifts, crunches etc) but I feel like that's just not enough

hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Just a quick check-in and then I need to get a little work done. I will check back later today to read.

There was a last minute cancellation at the radiologist and I was able to get in for my ultrasounds pretty much first thing this morning. The staff were great and helped me to relax alot. I had an abdominal and a pelvic ultrasound. Lots of poking and prodding, but in the end the news is much better than it could have been. I don't have all of the details, those will go to my PCP, who I have an appointment with on Tuesday afternoon. The tech and the radiologist did give me some information though. Overall my organs look very healthy (no problems with my GB, liver, pancreas, etc.), which certainly is due to my improved health over the last year. Both ladies were amazed at my post-RNY progress, which was nice to hear. Now for the bad news, I have 2 very large fibroids around my uterus that will most likely need to come out. In good news, though, my ovaries are in good shape (not working any more, but otherwise healthy), which will likely mean that they can stay in place and still make estrogen (yippee!). The other good news is that most fibroids are benign, which is a great weight off my shoulders. It just looks like I have two alien babies attempting to come out of my abdomen in the meantime. The only other real surprise is that they saw a very small mass in my right kidney, but the radiologist said that it looks benign and they will just want to rescan in 6 months to check it.

Okay, now for a deep breath and I'm going to try to do a little bit of telework. I plan to go swimming later to relieve some stress and some regeneration time.

Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers and encouragement yesterday. I am still rather nervous about this whole thing and it is nice to know that there are people cheering for me!

So glad you had good news from your tests. Enjoy your swim. I miss swimming but am to wimpy to drive much in winter. The roads are super icy right now.

Even though you may need surgery it sounds like the news was more positive than many of the possibilities. I'm sure that is a relief!

Liz, of all the possibilities, this isn't that bad. I don't look forward to more abdominal surgery, but things could have come out much worse. I mean if they can't do it laproscopically, I will ask whether I can get a "complimentary" panni in the deal...lol! I'm just feeling grateful that so many things are so healthy!
