What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good morning menu folks!
I had my yearly physical yesterday and there was good news and bad news. Since last year, I am off all of my meds for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and asthma. My weight is still going down (not sure why since I am eating more) and I am much more healthy. Now for the bad news. I do appear to have a small bump along my surgery incision. It may be scar tissue or a slight herniation. The doctor isn't really worried about it. I will show it to the surgeon on my next visit. The really bad news is that I have a softball (or larger) sized mass in or in the area of my uterus. She is very concerned and ordered ultrasounds, which I will try to get any appointment for as soon as possible. I am really concerned, but can't do much until we get more information.
Accountability: for dinner last night I had 2 chicken tenders and half a dozen fries instead of my planned dinner of pancakes and turkey bacon. I had the pancakes for breakfast this morning since I am at home. I also snacked on a Quest protein bar at bedtime. I wasn't hungry and didn't need it, but I was feeling nervous and just wanted to eat. Not a horrible choice, but bad reasons for eating.
Also because of the appointment, I didn't get in a long walk or swim, but I did get in alot of other walking so my daily steps were good. Since I am home having a mental health day today, I am going to do a swim today and we'll see about deep water aerobics tonight.
Menu:
Breakfast: ham, 1 pancake
Snack: protein shake
Lunch: 1/2 leftover hamburger, no bun, baby carrots
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple
Dinner: not sure and will depend on whether I go swimming again
Exercise: hour of swimming plus maybe deep water aerobics. I need the stress relief right now.

Thinking of you Janet and fingers crossed for a good diagnosis.
I know a lot of people stress eat, I personally don't (I am more of a boredom eater) but since I know you like to workout as well as I do work out that stress at the gym/pool, anything to keep you out of the kitchen.
